Navigation Screen at Nighttime

Is there a way to change the screen color scheme so at night its a bit darker? I just updated my radio from RA3 to an RA4 radio, and I cannot find this in settings. Basically, I would assume that at nighttime, it would go to a darker background, so its not so bright.

Thanks in advance

Re: Navigation Screen at Nighttime

You can't change the actual color scheme but you can adjust the brightness level.

Under the CONTROLS softkey... go to SETTINGS > DISPLAY > DISPLAY MODE.

It gives you the ability to set the display for daytime, nighttime or Auto along with the daytime and nighttime brightness levels you want.

Ok, tks. Didn't see that, but will double check. I also have to update the software, not sure if they are related.

Tks!

Also make sure your interior dimmer knob is not on the first click up. This disables light and radio dimming. The 2nd click tunrs on the interior overhead lights.

It was on auto. I am going to update the software today and see if that helps.

Okay... and what are your daytime and nighttime brightness levels set at? If they're both the same you won't see anything happen when in auto.

As an example, I have my daytime brightness set at 10 and nighttime set at 5. Auto is checked on.

It will flip between these settings based on your headlights being on or off.

Re: Navigation Screen at Nighttime

I checked it again , and it happens if you have your dash lights are adjusted lower , which you do by turning the dial near the headlight switch

Re: Navigation Screen at Nighttime

That was it. I had my my display settings at 5/10/auto, but it was the dash settings that effected the screen for day/night mode. Seems to me a big, since the "auto" feature is not really automatic. Regardless, I now know how it works and that's all I care about. Thanks for all the help!!

Re: Navigation Screen at Nighttime

Glad I found this, gotta try this tomorrow. I have been trying to figure this out because the options for night and day brightness are disabled under settings.

Re: Navigation Screen at Nighttime

Also, there is a physical button under the screen that toggles the display off/on.
