Navigation won't recognise anything/Voice calling doesn't work. Help.

Hey guys. 2014 LTD here and I can't tell you how low my opinion is of this system.

Voice calls bring up the number and then fail to connect. I have to initiate the call on my cell phone and then it works through the jeep.

Texts come through about half the time.

I have never once been able to ask navigation to navigate and have it actually work.

I haven't been able to use this ridiculous system for anything but the radio since I got the damn thing in June.

Is there anything that I can do?

Have you checked the UConnect downloadable manual? It does not accept just any words. I don't use the voice commands often, but have not had any issues when I do.

I use the VR for nav all the time, no problem. I found these two instruction pamphlets very useful.

Re: Navigation won't recognise anything/Voice calling doesn't work. Help.

If using Android...

Go into your applications and make sure all of the "ANT" and "ANT+" items are enabled.

Some 'battery optimization' apps or advice sites may disable these and that will cause problems.

These are related to Bluetooth connectivity.

I was having other issues with my Samsung GS4 and performed a factory reset and was about to disable them, but looked up what they were and realized they need to be active (I disable all the crap that Sprint pushed down).

After the factory reset (and all the ANT apps running) I can once again initiate phone calls via voice prompt.

I could not get "Find Address" to work in my 2015 at all.
Until I realized it was in Canada.

Manually Setup one address in USA, and now it works fine.

My 2014 Limited was fine and so is my 2015 Overland.

Text was an issue on limited. It would come in through the Radio first time every time. But it would stop. It seemed to work better if I always responded to each text.

Voice Command Never misses on Contacts or Music.
