As the dealership will be billed for the navigation activation, only the
following people in the dealership are authorized to call for an activation
code (see list below). If you are not in one of the roles listed and needs an
activation code, please request this through your manager.

President Owner / Partner General Sales Manager
Sales Manager Assistant Sales Manager Parts Manager

4. Copy the request code on the Repair Order and call 866-962-8837.


NOTE: The person that calls in will need the dealer code, VIN, their SID number and
request code. They will ask for your e-mail address, so they can send you a
confirmation of the activation code. The call center is opened Monday -
Friday, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Eastern Standard time.


this are for NA, i think in Australia are the same steps!

Hi Sox

Thanks for your post...Im hoping this is true - that we in Australia can get the nav activated for our Laredo's this way....when I asked my dealer this he said it was not possible in Australia... would really like Navigation enabled so hoping my dealer is wrong.!

One issue perhaps is that the Australian Maps are not already on the unit.

Hoping to hear from Jase65 or others having had better luck.

EDIT: btw I sent a message to Jeep Australia asking this same question about a week and a half ago... no response has been received. I guess this and the deletion of the same questions on Jeep Australia Facebook shows us all how poor Jeep Australia help their customers.

They did say on their FB page that it was not possible when someone asked.

Is Jeep Australia a division od Jeep, or are they like a giant, independent dealer?

It seems their customer service makes what we get in the US to notch.

Jase65 mate how did you go ?


Can anyone confirm that the Jeep RA3 Uconnect NAV software in use is Navteq/Garmin ??

Ive noticed that the Dodge Dart and the Fiat Freemount/Dodge Journey have a similar Uconnect screen and radio...they are definitely using Garmin/Navteq.

Answering my own question

Ive discovered that Jeep uses native Harman Navigation Software - 'Opennav' for the Uconnect RA3/RJ3 8.4A and RA4/RJ4 8.4AN Harman Radios
The maps are provided by Navteq.

Sorry been awhile since I've been on. My local service manager is just waiting until his senior man is back from holidays which should be on the 18th and the cars in on the 21st to have its reversing camera fitted so I'll hopefully find out more then

Well went to dealer today to have reverse camera fitted and NOT HAPPY the camera is a piece of crap and not worth having. Jeep Australia are going to hear about that tomorrow. But on the gps front the dealer rang to get the code from the US but they left it a bit late in the day they have sent an email and tell me they're expecting a call back tomorrow hopefully with the code but they did say if they get no joy out of this they will go down the jeep US suggested way and call a dealer over there and do it that way. I have to say that my dealership is one of the best I've ever dealt with in NZ or Aus and I've brought a lot of cars
