Guys with RAX installed: all you have to do if you want to update maps is use the RAX rollback software, then install the map update, then reinstall the RAX jailbreak. It's a time consuming process mostly due to the time the maps take to update, but I've confirmed that it does work.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Sent them email for information but did not receive any response.
So I jumped the gun,
Placed an order and paid yesterday for bronze.
My car already has HDMI input and I dont need any extra camera.
Still waiting for the download email.

A little bit hiccup when placing the order since I only need the software, placed the bronze. All Im trying to achieve is to bypass speed lockout.
I received emails from customtronix insisting I need silver, However an email from Magnus straightened the confusion out and confirmed I only need bronze.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Lockpick installation on 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit with VES.
Quoted from Customtronix "Rev cam The rev cam will power off at 5 mph! The rev cam is controlled by a LIN-bus that we have no chance to interfere with. You can cut the LIN-bus wire but you will loose the Guide lines".
Now I want to turn my rear OEM camera on at any speed or any time depending if a trailer is being used, but since I have VES I have one less video input and my front camera that takes the only video input available spot, so an additional camera is out of the question (I don't want wire strung all over the place either)
So my question is, why can I not cut this LIN bus interfere wire and put it on a switch (on/off arrangement) and control it's mode that way and when I want the rear camera with the grid lines, I switch the LIN bus back in and when I want the camera all the time, I switch the LIN bus out.
2nd question is, where is this LIN bus wire and what color is it?
This is a good setup even if you don't have video input limitation because you don't have to install a separate camera. Seem obvious to me to config it this way but probably my idea will be shot down due to some other restriction I don't know about. I will be sending this the customtronix soon. Any feedback or comments welcome.

Customtronix is looking into this now as a possible configuration option and will get back to me soon.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Going back to an older topic, but can someone please provide a step by step on wiring the RAX Camera? How to provide power? I know where to get through the firewall. Getting ready to tackle this job this weekend.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Question:
2014 Grand Cherokee Limited.
What is the most simple way to enable touchscreen input while the vehicle is in motion?
I do not care about any added features.

Just get the bronze pack from Customtronix. No hardware, easy install. But you might still want to ask for the rollback software to get back to OEM.
Thanks,
Russell

On their websote: "Lockout disable (only software needed) will let you search addresses in motion ( if you already have navigation activated), but it will not give maps (NO GPS). You will also be able to watch VES while driving (if equipped) and have the SRT app enable (viper logo). - See more at: http://www.customtronix.com/shop/chryslerdodgeram-icos-rax-jailbreak-bronze/#sthash.zyXDrPo1.dpuf"

Not sure if I'll go for it, still some restrictions...
Next vehicle needs to allow input (not just voice) while in motion.

You may have difficulty finding such a vehicle as the nannies want the lockout and it is more and more common every year.

I've forgotten all things which are normally locked, but I can now dial the phone using the screen keyboard too, as well as browse and scroll the phone book. All settings and screen scrolling for audio are available on the screen too, but maybe they were before as well.
The keyboard address input for navigation is the key thing for me, as Jeep has disabled VR address input for Australia, for some reason. That was the only reason I bought the RAX actually.
Also, I don't get the SRT logo etc.
Thanks,
Russell

My VW's have that disclaimer, you press it and go. My 2009 NAV in the Passat is higher resolution and much faster compared to the 2014 premium Jeep/Garmin Nav system, go figure.
I'm more and more tending towards choosing my vehicles based on the overall phone, Nav, entertainment integration, even down to the steering wheel buttons and cluster displays. Love what VW/Audi and most other German makes are doing in that department. Italy has some catching up to do I'm thinking...
