You have to dig through the bajillion pages- or probably just email customtronix for advice how to power the rear cam all the time. I'm not interested personally so i never paid attention but i think there MIGHT be a workaround. I think someone maybe figured out a wire to cut someplace or customronix is working on a patch or something- sorry i can't help anymore than that.
So, with your help I have fixed the front camera coming on all the time issue, and have determined that I don't want to cut any wires for the rear view oem camera, I am left with the delay for the rear oem camera coming on when moving fro drive to reverse. I time it at about 4 seconds, and it doesn't matter whether I have selected cargo cam on the controls screen or not. Stopping in traffic to parallel park, waiting for that 4seconds seems an eternity.
Can someone confirm that this is normal behaviour, and/or if there is a setting (other than de-installing the cameras) that might eliminate it?
Thanks,
Russell

There is a delay in the front camera coming on, but I didn't think it was as long as 4 seconds. It might be; I've never timed it.

My issue is not with the delay for the front camera to come on - but whatever that delay is, the same delay applies to the jeep rear view camera coming on when moving from drive to reverse. When shifting from park to reverse, there is no delay, and there was no delay from drive to reverse before I installed the options for the front and cargo cams.
Thanks,
Russell

Interesting. Have not ecountered such delay. When switching from rev to drive do you wait to bring the car to a complete stop? No jerk of the movement?

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

You mean from drive to reverse ( which is when the delay happens)? Yes, even if the car is totally stopped with my foot on the brake, I can make shift a number of times, and each time there is a delay when shifting from drive to reverse, but not when shifting from park to reverse.
Interesting that you don't see it. In that case, I will email Customtronix and ask them. Do you have both cargo cam and front cam installed? I might try de installing each one, and see if it is due to only one of them. With the jailbreak software installed, but neither cargo cam nor front cam installed, there is no problem.
Thanks,
Russell

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Under some circumstances I have noticed a delay – but I think it’s going to the front cam. I don’t have it often enough in a way I use it that I’ve noticed.

But I do generally parallel park each night on the street in front of my house. I can’t say I’ve ever timed it, but if there was a 4 second delay to park at the end of the day I think it would drive me crazy. So I don’t believe I’m seeing that.

Currently I do NOT have the cargo cam installed so that may be the difference (On the Durango’s we have a button to fold the rear seat headrests for better view, if you install the cargo cam it overlays the button in that spot so generally I leave cargo cam uninstalled)

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

A related question Michaelk - when you install/uninstall features, do you go through the process of powering down, opening and closing the door, waiting until the car goes to sleep etc, as when installing a new Uconnect version, or do you just pull the USB when it's done?
Thanks,
Russell

Thanks for letting us know. Where do you see the update?

Edit:

Never mind, I was thinking this was a customtronix update.

This should result in a Customtronix update shortly (we hope).
