I installed the customronix version las night and theni had the exact same symptoms you descibe. Pin error and all. I tried a factory reset and then yo uhave to re-register uconnect on the radio. I kept getting an error "could not connect to server". I rolled back and was able to reregister and now all works well.

While it makes me very happy from a security point of view if it's the case- I'm starting to get bummed that sprint/FCA have implemented some sort of check of the software on the radio and if it isn't "clean" they are blocking network/server access. Great idea from security point of view. But sad idea if we have to pick remote features or Customtronix. The remote features cost too much for too little so customtronix wins in my book but still a bummer. (but screw it- remove the modem files and kill remote access and give us the SRT apps!)

Ahh, that's an interesting point. What if they did that? Blocking the services if they detect radio software isn't clean? Well for one they will lose business that way. Well whatever business they have. Doubt many actually pay for the service the uconnect offers. I agree if that's the case im ok with losing those options and getting the SRT apps.

But how much business did they just lose from all this publicity of the cars being hacked? Way more than the total number of customtronix buyers I'd guess.

To be honest I'm shocked they weren't (or aren't) scanning the software and blocking network access. It's like security 101. If they could somehow blacklist those "unclean" units from all network access then it stops lots of security problems. They dont need to worry (as much) about the next hack.

They could set things up so as soon as a device gets modified (for good or bad) it's thrown off the network and can no longer be accessed. Couple that with an email to the registered owner that "hey we think your car has been hacked, please bring it in for service" and you'd get a pretty secure system right out of the gate.

DVR's, smartphones, and I'm sure many other consumer devices have similar scans to be sure they're "clean".

Just like rooting your android phone can be worth giving up netflix, I'd say that hacking via customtronix can certainly be worth their features and the SRT apps.

anyway all the more reason that I'll never bring my Durango in for service without rolling back. The less FCA knows about customtronix the better.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Do I need a new rollback for the new version 15.26.1 or can I use the 14.25.50 EOM rollback?

Thought i post this here too. I used the same rollback 14.25.5

So I think i got a lil more insight about this app issue...

Today during my lunch break i decided to call uconnect to see "hey wtf is happening" Woman i spoke to from uconnect advised she was able to see that i had not updated my radio. She told me this after i told her i had already updated both the app and the radio. Interesting to know they are unable to see the update.

So she recommended to perform update. I agreed and ended call.

Soon after i decided to download official uconnect update and install. I needed to do a roll back and then install the update. So i'm at this stage right now and soon as the update completed i did get a message regarding uconnect to register or what not. But as it is i still cannot use the uconnect access app. Maybe there is something that i need to do from inside the vehicle/radio.

Owner connect website doesn't work either and still prompting the message that i locked out the pin attempts to conduct a remote action. So, i want to figure this out prior to re-installing the customtronix update.

I also had a thought. I now magnus mentioned not needing the token but what would happen if i copied and pasted the token to the usb i have the update on?

I think the tokens purpose is strictly for the customtronix software and shouldn't make any difference as far as uconnect is concerned.

Ok another question: Does the rollback remove the token hence need to install it once again prior to customtronix update?

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

From what I know is that yes if you have done a factory roll back you should be doing it with the version of the rollback that you currently have installed and yes it should require the tokens to be able to reinstall after a factory roll back.

Update for those of you who has not been able to download the update or the roll back I will be posting a msg here in the next day or two to PM me with a request for the latest links due to the previous server having issues they are moving the links to a different server for better performance.

Many question if the update is worth the effort it is not just a security update listed in this TSB pdf file is many changes the security changes are mostly in the servers and net works.

I hope that this takes care of some of the questions

Awesome thx blacked out. Unfortunately for me I have the previous roll back so I will need to insert that version for the token and then this new one.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

I now have the new links to the server for the updates for both MY2013/2014 NA and the MY2015 NA for updates and roll backs.

If you need them leave me a PM with the year of your model and I will reply with the correct links

Thanks

on a side note if you are having problems with uconnect remote app from your phone you might try the update at the android store to see if that solves the issue my phone downloaded one last night but my subscription has expired and I will not be renewing it due to the outrageous price that they ask.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

the version that you DO want to install is the version .22 there was originally 2 updates in the factory update and when it would install it would install 20 and then 22 when I was beta testing the 22 version looked like it was not correct so they deleted it hence the reason for uconnect saying that the version was not up to date

if you need this link feel free to contact me for ver 22

so now the version of the patch now has that cured and they made the mods to do the ver 20 and then hidden to do the ver 22 and this will take care of all the issues with uconnect and the remote app to

from magnus a few min ago

So now it Will ask to install 1011 and then it programs 1022 silent and system setting Will say 15.26.1. But when it ses the token it Will say found token for 15.26.1022

Well we changed the main system version and Uconnect didnt like that! Its not that they check for anything specific but since the version number is not in their server it Will fail to register
So we have to give it the same version at is from original
