Chromecast has been solid for me so far. The toughest part is that you have to set the unit up on your devices own hotspot. After that mirroring or casting is seemless.

one more question on the mirroring, has anyone been able to stablish mirroring without having to connect the devices to WiFi, like from device (IOs/Android) to streaming device to screen, no WiFi not hotspot. thanks.

That sucks I swear mine was fixed on a firmware update. But I'm not running it anymore.

True, I know it uses WiDi or Miracast but... no support for IOs, I have both Android and Apple products, I need support for both.

For those interested...

I am sure there are others out there but I am yet to find something that supports both IOS/Android/PC, some day I am sure.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Hey Magnus, I recently had oil change service done. Didn't think there would be any updates, but the dealer attempted to update the software for the hacking issue. When I got my car back the firmware version was still the 14.47 you gave me and the "Nav in Motion" still worked. Since it was hot and the service was shitty, I had canceled the Uconnect remote start service. I just signed up again since it's getting cold and now my Jeep will not receive any commands. Called Jeep, they created a ticket, and will get back to me on the issue. Don't know if the dealer screwed something up trying to do the update. In an attempt to fix the problem myself, I did a Reset To factory Defaults and a Reset Radio. Neither helped, vehicle still wont receive commands. Still waiting on Jeep! I figured let me check to see if there's an update from Jeep, so I downloaded the latest firmware 15.17.5. Put it on my USB stick inserted it and I got "Files Not Supported" error message. Do you think it's because I need to use the rollback software that you offer us? If so I will need that, also I saved the files for 14.47 on my computer. Don't know if that will still work after I use the rollback, then upgrade to Jeeps 15.17.5 new software, then put yours back on?

the uconnect service scans the vehicles and if you don't have the latest version of the software installed the remote start service is blocked.

You need to get on the latest version.

2 choices-

1) get the latest tweaked version from Customtronix

(check your email/spam folders too- they sent links to the latest software from them some time ago)

2) rollback to the factory version and then update using the factory software and forego any of the customtronix features.
