Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Can I use the RAX Jailbreaker with the CHR558 harness ?
(without the hardware box connected - just the harness that came with it?) THANK YOU.

Oki!! NO not without cutting and slicing, the can bus is not connected from pin to pin, since it goes through hardware. then you would need to ad 2 extra video signals. But it would be a very expensive harness

If you don't have the factory ves you can input the composite video source of your choice.

we are using Cargo cam/anyvideosourse. so a lot of people doesnīt have VES or wants cargo cam, this is the video input we use for any video sources.
For people with VES, will only have 1 spare video input..But the Ves itself has video input. so this will be enough I beleive

Thanks.

I am afraid we still have some language barriers, and it may be entirely on my end. Let's forget the Lockpick box. it does not exist.

I am not looking to modify my existing Lkckpick harness. Even without the box, it adds 1 video input (whereas the RAX adds 2). So I would only have 1 video feed.

. So to get this straight, the two video signals you have added into the RAX harness connect to different pins as the one video signal added to the Lockpick harness?

yes! we donīt touch the Revcam (33,32,31), so we connect the 2 videos (VES 2 and VES 3) ( pins 26,25,24 and 23,22,21). but these inputs has to be activated with software.

does it answers your question?

Is this working for North American models yet?

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

OK. Latest beta test complete! Looks like for now when Uconnect works, it's too smart and deletes the SRT app on SOME CARS (Jeep Overlands, for example!) that aren't supposed to have it. If Customtronix "breaks" the connection to Uconnect, then the SRT app works, but things that rely on the Uconnect connection (Assist, UConnect Store, iHeart Radio, Pandora and Slacker) do NOT work. So far, no way to have it both ways.

For me, I'd rather have the SRT app than any of those UConnect apps (Remote start from iPhone, lock, unlock, etc all still work!) so ironically I'll probably use the original installer for now, which disabled the Uconnect stuff, but enabled the SRT app. You know, the version I complained about earlier in this thread.

I believe Customtronix is going to sell the software to N.A. customers WITHOUT the SRT app for now until/unless they can find a fix. I've suggested they give the owner the option at install, but not even sure if that's possible. Even if it IS possible, it may be too confusing. Though frankly, if you're going to mess with the software of your Jeep, you can probably understand the difference and decide if you want Uconnect OR SRT.

Everything else is working beautifully on my non-SRT Jeep. The "roll back" solution works perfectly as well, so no matter what, going back to stock is simple.

This is turning into a GREAT solution. I have the Customtronix cable to install along with a front view camera (Thank you Magnus!!) Hopefully I'll get to that this weekend. Except for the part where I have to go through the firewall, it appears to be a pretty simple install.

I'm a happy customer. Magnus and Customtronix REALLY stepped up on this one!! Sounds like development is just beginning, more features are in the works. Very exciting to have some control over the software instead of just taking what Jeep gives.

Thanks for the update Zhe Wiz.

On another note, can someone explain the Hotspot feature in this mod? I'm not sure what it does or what it's purpose is.

Thanks!

That is a possible future addition, but not included right now. The idea would be to have your Jeep act as a hotspot w/o having to pay the ridiculous fees charged by Jeep.

Again, it's a possible future addition, so details are unknown...at least to me!
