Yes I know that this is the same source, but my question was,

do I have to install the cargo cam or not?

Correct, install the cargo camera function when asked during the software installation. This will activate the input for use as aux source. Physical cargo cam obviously not needed.

I know this has been covered but I'm not clear on everything. When a new Uconnect update comes out we have to wait for Customtronix to jailbreak that version and provide us with a new download link?

Yup. And I sent them a copy of the MY2015-only 14.32.3. I don't know how this whole year-specific software situation will work out, but I'm sure they are on it.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

I skimmed through the thread, I just want to make sure the uconnet apps now work with the NA models that have the bronze rax.

Still haven't found the page that mentions if they fixed it or not.

Also, if I already have the rear entertainment and the bronze package unlocks the front screen video, I could just use the rear entertainment sources in the seats instead of needing the harness to connect an apple tv or similar, correct? Since it has hdmi I was thinking about trying a chromecast.

Yup, everything you said should be correct.

CLStech have you gotten Chromecast to work yet on the same network as your phone acting as the Hotspot. I cannot. (for those of you wondering, this has nothing to do with the jailbreak itself).

I haven't tried it, but I don't believe the phone creating the hotspot is actually on the network it created. I am thinking I would need another phone with data, or a mobile hotspot device to stream from my original phone.

If mirroring doesn't look/work so well, I would just use another phone/tablet without data to connect to the WiFi network the original phone created to stream content.

I haven't had time to test, currently on vacation. I saw the apple TV thread was able to pull it off with a iPhone...

I was wrong earlier, I just tried it and it does work through the phone that is providing a hotspot. At least it's working with my Nexus 5. I had to setup the chromecast through my laptop in the house then put it in the car.

You can't mirror the phone though since it requires the phone to have wifi on. Can't turn wifi and wifi hotspot on together.

Makes sense that's the issue I thought would happen.

On the bright side google announced in june that it would be updating the app so that it doesn't need to be on the same wifi network as the chromecast. At that point mirroring shouldn't be a problem.
