Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

wondering can the front cam recording while driving like car DVR?
I'll probably get the silver package when it's available. I have a 2015 JGC with 8.4a....what i want is my kids can watch movies but i only have 2GB data on my phone, any good suggestions?

I to would like to record front cam, like a go pro can. Also planning on movies or Netflix for kids, but data isn't a concern with unlimited.

Im currently using Nav-TV (dealer installed it) for my tailgate cam. The RAX JB only has 2 video sources, one for the front cam and one for the cargo cam Im assuming. Is there a way to use all 3?

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Hi All,

I bought the customtronix sliver package. The software install easy. I'm not looking at installing the front camera but i'm not to sure where to connect the power in the engine bay.

I've been searching for instructions but the only one i've found are for the CostalTech lockpick which has power included.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm a novice when it comes to electronics so pictures would help!

Thanks guys!

Do you know how they connected it? I wouldn't mind giving it a go myself.

Did you order one? missed it before it went out of stock. But I am told they stopped the preorders because of FCC issues.

Tap into the fuse box. I chose the rear power outlet fuse.

i liked that too.

for the OP- you can get some of these:
Add A Circuit MICRO2 ATR Fuse Tap 5 Pack for 2014 Chevy GMC | eBay

i looked all around for fuse taps but no place else seemed to carry the small ones used in this vehicle.

(the fuses are a PITA to find too- the smaller ones are a pain but ONE of the 3 local parts stores by me has 'em. The medium ones are just about impossible to get the OEM ones and even the larger jcase ones are "low profile" so that much harder than normal....)

finding a ground isn't all that easy either but there are a few spots where you can ground to a screw or a chunk of metal. I decided I wanted to have a source of power in the cabin for some other toys (A hard wired phone charger first...)- so i got a ground clamp and clipped to a chunk of metal in the dashboard frame in the passenger foot well of my Durango to have an easy to access ground point.

Easy ground location is the negative jumper location located near the fuse box
