Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

I will be ordering this soon for my 2014 Ram. Few questions if anyone would like to answer them please.

Are there any videos for taking the radio bezel and front shenanigans off?

What kind of adapter are yall using to go from HDMI to the composite cables?

Thanks!

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

I want to install the RAX Jailbreak, and also to be able to install the front camera, and eventually the new Nexus Player to mirror my note 3 or other Android device. My question is, since the Nexus Player will connect via HDMI cable, will/how I be able to connect that to the RAX?

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Ordered the silver last night, wow they are fast, already got the files downloaded ready to be installed and have a fedex tracking number saying it will be here Wednesday.

Ordered a MX III android media box too.

MX III MX3 WiFi XBMC Quad Core Android Smart TV Box 4 4 Android KitKat 4K S802 | eBay

I plan on hooking it up with the composite cables, can anyone tell me how the Rax kit is wired? From the pictures it looks like its a single yellow port for the composite hookup. Am I right or does it come with female red white and yellows?

Perfect, thanks alot.

zmichal, I assume you are talking about the MX III compared to the Nexus Player?
I wanted the Nexus but it is 2-3 weeks out for delivery and I am very impatient so I got to looking around and this looks like the best alternative and having the composite out looks like a plus since you wont have to have a hdmi adapter. Plus I like the multiple full sized usb ports and sd card slot.

It is supposed to be here Thursday and when I get it hooked up and going I will let you know how good it is.

I know ALL ABOUT IMPATIENT- lol

One idea is get yourself a ~3 foot RCA extension then you can run the cables down to the passenger footwell. It takes all of 8 seconds to pull that trim piece down and swap in a nexus, fire tv, whatever you want to do at some point....

That way there is no need to pull the radio trim and undo the 4 screws to get to it all the time.

after pulling the radio for what seemed like the 5th time to fiddle with connecting/reconnecting different front cam's that's what i finally got around to doing.
