Ok cool. It's so disappointing we don't get all the features here. I don't understand why. It's there why not activate it!

We get all of the features as others do.
What specifically are you looking for?

Digital radio, use of the uconnect app so we can use the features in that, satellite radio, and wifi I think are the main things we don't get. Me personally I like the uconnect app features and the digital radio. Simple features we get to miss out on.

They're all hardware related, so no type of jailbreak will ever be able to achieve that.
No export GCs get the required hardware in their Uconnect systems.

It's a shame. They are all great features. They have the technology, why not share it with the world. And I do love my gadgets. So they more I can play with the more fun I can have. No doubt it has something to do with our laws that stops them from putting the technology in. As long as I can find the best way to get video through the screen, for the kids in the back, that will satisfy me for now.

Is anyone else's video output a little snowy when using the cargo cam as an input for a media device? Its not bad and its hard to tell when watching a movie or something but during blacks its pretty snowy. Im not sure if its by wires getting interference from something or if thats the best its going to be.

I do not have this problem. Only that my video is stretched vertically.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Ok, so i just finished reading the entire thread.

Really like the features and and have seen videos of the install, radio trim removal and camara install. All seem very easy. I think i may have the hardest time with the camara. So yea the silver would be the way to go for me.

I only have a few concerns:

1) Has the SRT feature been fixed? If i buy now will i get all the featurse of silver minus SRT? I don't want to lose pandora/aha by harmon. I do use them and may be one of the few who does LOL.

2) I have seen a few posts where some mention video feed becoming disrubtive(staticky/spotty). How have most fixed this if they have?

3)Someone else also asked this but don't think anyone answered: What would happen if dealer finds during an oil change that radio has been jailbroken and try to revert to stock? Would it even work? Also why would they even check radio if they can simply check the OBD II?

4) Rollback is not needed for a simple oil change at dealer right? Also would not want to remove front cam once installed and then re-install after oil change. Just saying...

Hope someone can answer those for me. I am pretty stoked about the silver package and the new addition Magnus mention about changing background. Also, is the forum discount still in effect? Edit***How much is the silver currently in USD? discount and non discount? Just checked the website and $350 for the silver. How much is the discount?

?
Earlier in this thread, I asked what would happen if the dealer tried to upgrade the radio to a later Uconnect version, if it had the jailbreak installed. My dealer routinely checks the radio software, and upgrades it to the latest if necessary. When they look at the version via the uconnect menu, it shows the installed version as the standard version, not as the jail broken version. So I am not concerned that they will discover it has been jailbroken, but that they will simply try to upgrade it if I'm not already on the latest.
So my question is: what will happen when they try to do the upgrade?
Thanks,
Russell

it wont work. Who knows what the dealer will do at that point. Some are so dumb they even try to "upgrade" to software that is older than people have. So who knows. To me, my dealer's service department is a nightmare, so it's worth the few minutes before and after for me to rollback and reinstall since they are so bad. I dont need them deciding to break my stones over issues becasue of it. Once you have the usb sticks in hand it's really very simple to up or down grade or whatever.

I'm not going to pull the front cam off the bumper but i will probably rollback.

It's a personal decision. whatever you feel like doing

just create an account on their website and see what the current price is- but if i recall it was $250 plus like 25-30 bucks for fedex shipping (which took 2-3 days i think to East Coast US)

It will fail. The dealers cannot update unless you get the roll-back software
