I can toggle between all the cam views (cargo, rev, and front). So far so good.

Cams installed and everything is golden. Cam quality is a little grainy. Not sure if that's the quality of the cam or limitation of the RCA bus. Overall, very happy.

a good camera should look at least as good as the factory reverse camera. They are all on the same RCA bus.

Did any of you have to go back to the dealership to service the 8.4 RA4/3 unit yet?
I know you guys can flash it back to OEM glory but what if...your screen is black and it stops working altogether like in my case? What are your choices in that case? Just trying to see what strategies people employ?

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Hi, I was able to install the lockpick harness and front camera as shipped by Customtronix this weekend. I also installed a Nexus Player to the cargo cam slot. Overall, I'm pretty happy with things, but I've run into two glitches, and was wondering if people had any thoughts:

1) Video quality on both the Nexus player and the front cam isn't spectacular. The cam is fairly blurry (can't read a license plate in front of the car, for example), and the Nexus Player text is hard to read. I've spent a lot of time reading about HDMI -> Composite conversation, and know not to have high expectations, but wonder if any of you did any kind of lowering default screen resolutions, etc to get it more readable? Are people generally getting front cam views as clear as the rear cam from what Customtronix sends? I'm seeing a pretty substantive difference so far.

2) I am not getting any sound input from the Nexus Player. I'm well aware of the need to have the stereo on AUX. When things are working sucessfully, does AUX show up as white (like there's a viable connection), or does it look greyed out even when successfully connected? Mine is grey, it says looking for connection, and I've tried refitting the cables a couple of times now with no change.

Thanks!

So once the new uconnect update is released for the 14's, will we be able to complete that update since we have th RAX JB? Or will we need to the roll back to stock, then update uconnect and then wait for the rax to be updated with new enhancements?

Should be able to update on top.

My understanding is that Customtronix will release an update to the RAX JB which will incorporate the UConnect update.

The turn around time for Rax updated version is less than a week in the past. As soon as the update is available they make the Rax version...

On another note. I was at CES the past couple days... The Uconnect app and platform will be updated heavily this year. They showed me the ability to locate your vehicle, show diagnostics, send destinations/maps to the vehicle all from the app.

The bigger gripe I stated with them was the response time for locking/unlocking/starting vehicle from the app. They agreed that it was about 1.5 minutes.

The reason for this is that once the signal is received by the car the Uconnect system has to boot up... The part that controls the remote features are in the apps section of the radio. If you have ever tried to open the apps after starting the vehicle you see how long that takes.

Uconnect plans to reorder the boot order in order to decrease response time. With these changes and additions Uconnect subscription may be worth the $14.99

App update looks like February/March, Uconnect in vehicle will be staggered through the year

That's great news CLS. Just saw these announcements today. Pretty exciting.
So their event was in Vegas? I was there this past wk/wknd.
