So their event was in Vegas? I was there this past wk/wknd.
The consumer electronics show was in Vegas this week. Ended today. FCA and Uconnect had a large booth there. The site at large was extremely overwhelming!

CONFIRMED ........ If you buy the Silver or above package the conversion from RA3 to RA4 is included if this upgrade is needed or requested, with that said please beware that there is still the hardware limitations same as the dealer option that can be installed including the HD radio and the dealer activated navigation does not include Sensor-assisted GPS or 3D features

following is shortened Magnus statement to me .....

well my goal is to provide everyone that buys our product free maps ! So i Will not offer it like a service ! Its going to be like buy a silver and you get some extra features i think actuall we can make the RA3 to 100% RA4

They Will be able to load the full Maps and features a RA4 have. The built in navigation doesnt have TMC and etc
Meaning they will use 2 sticks one normal Jailbreaker and one full maps
Did the Nav activation become available?

NAV activation has been available all the time there has not been any updates since that statement for him to need to address.

The map company updates has not been completed by the map company like they originally stated last summer on their web site of saying in Oct for the maps of 2014 JGC. Now the map site only states that we have the most current maps available, I wonder what happened with the Oct 14 update?

So again till the factory does a released update Magnus can not release updates.

But the maps and the NAV are available using the most currently available version.

Updates will come approx a week after the factory updates are released if no major changes has happened, but Magnus and his team will be on it.

Is that what your asking?

I was asking if the activation of the factory (non nav.) system was included by customtronix with the silver package.

I remember you quoting Magnus "i think actuall we can make the RA3 to 100% RA4"

On another note. I was at CES the past couple days... The Uconnect app and platform will be updated heavily this year. They showed me the ability to locate your vehicle, show diagnostics, send destinations/maps to the vehicle all from the app.

The bigger gripe I stated with them was the response time for locking/unlocking/starting vehicle from the app. They agreed that it was about 1.5 minutes.

The reason for this is that once the signal is received by the car the Uconnect system has to boot up... The part that controls the remote features are in the apps section of the radio. If you have ever tried to open the apps after starting the vehicle you see how long that takes.

Uconnect plans to reorder the boot order in order to decrease response time. With these changes and additions Uconnect subscription may be worth the $14.99
i just started pokign around so this might be addressed in another thread- but did they say the '14s would get the updates too? Some of the wording could be read to read only for 15's OR, as I hope, 15's first.

They said the update on the 2014's would be staggered. The App itlself will be available shortly.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Please who ever ordered the Keedox media player can you shed some light on a few questions...I plan on using a external 1.5TB filled with movies via the USB port..
My questions are:

1.Where did you end up putting the Keedox media player in your Jeep Grand Cherokee?
2.How did you power it? Where?
3. Are there any other locations that im missing?

I have problems with 2 spots the first spot is the cubby whole but might be the best option due to having direct access and range for the remote.. The hard drive and media player will take the space of where I usually put my phone ( still might be the better option ) and it has the cigarette outlet for power..

The next option would be my small useless armrest that already has my blu Ray player in it which most likely will fit the media player hard drive and power supply discretely but remote wise will suck bc the arm rest will have to remain open..

Also I own a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee summit with bluray RES and I ordered the silver package and received a package with a camera and the wire harness (great!) then a few days later I received another basic harness by mail..(one grey doubled ended harness with no video inputs) anyone experience that?
I brought it to magus attention but I feel the language barrier I wasn't really understood bc he told me to use the one with appropriate numbers from fedex.. But didn't answer my question to why he sent me 2 lol

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Hi guys,

Firstly great thread - invaluable information.

I bought the "Silver" kit last week and the purchase and delivery process went very smoothly.....shipped to my door down under in around 5 days and my software link was available that night .

The main aim is to enable the front camera - my Australian MY2015 Diesel Overland already allowed navigation input while driving - version 14.29.9

I have some plans for the cargo camera input - specifically involving a Raspberry Pi, something similar running Android or even a NUC - we'll see.

I haven't installed anything yet.....my main reservation relates to the modification to the software on a 2 week old car .

For Australian owners who have gone with the RAX - I am interested in your views/experience - particularly on a few issues.

There is no specific roll-back for the Australian models. The guys at Customtronix suggest the European roll-back will suffice. Have any of you actually rolled back successfully? Where do you get the software?

Any comments made by dealers at service etc...?

Does our radio require a conversion first? Or just install?

The second files/USB stick - seems to be maps - did anyone install this?

Thx Chris

My 2014 has been in twice now for service and I rollback before and reinstall after the service no problems. I leave the USB stick in the glove box, I just have the RAX but that will change this year as I am going to upgrade to Silver and use the Cargo Cam for the caravan camera.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Do all dealers do update or is a some that do? I dont for see my dealer doing the update but if they do, then what? They cannot void my warranty on speculation right?

I have an oil change coming up and want to be prepared.
