Maybe Magnus can chime in again here, although I understand he says his code doesn't change anything to do with this portion something is affecting it. I am going to try and load the factory image back and see if it works.

Does anyone know if the camera Customtronix sent with the silver package is the front camera reversed image? I would assume so?

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

good news: i got a nexus player!
Bad news: its for the house but works great since we cut cable!

The chromecast once setup with a laptop or other device to work on my phones hotspot works with no issues so far. Did some hardcore testing while staying in a hotel. I'm able to cast my screen as well as cast youtube, google music, espn, etc.

Not bad for a $35 dongle... I'll be replacing my miracast device as soon as I get home with the chromecast dongle.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

So here's an interesting point especially for Australian lockpick users: my 2014 JGC is in for its 40,000km service today. Before I took it in I rolled the radio back to the 14.22.3 with the rollback software Customtronix sent me the link for.
Just got a call from the dealer asking if I had done any upgrades myself - the version in the radio is not an Australian version, and they are running into trouble trying to apply an update ( not just a uconnect version upgrade, but one of the TSB's I think.)
Hopefully they can work around it, but it may end up with me paying for extra time.
So, this means either, I need an Australian rollback version from Magnus, or, after rollback, I should upgrade with an Australian version - if that works I guess. Anyone else had this problem, and how did you solve it?
Thanks,
Russell

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Hmmm... could you find out which updates were pending for your VIN, as at delivering it for service?

I just had mine go through with the rollback software "as supplied", but I declined (insisted really) the Nav update for pronunciation. I'm going to have a stab that this is where the conflict lies...

Cheers,
Steve

(This is regarding the Aussie units specifically)

The TSB related to the radio that they told me they would be applying is 14-089.
From my reading of it, it also updates to the latest Uconnect version, but I don't know whether it was that update that caused them a problem, or the TSB itself. Now, I also don't know if I'll lose the TSB when I reapply the lockpick software.
Thanks,
Russell

Russell unless you have issues with Nav pronunciation, consider telling them you don't want the update. If they insist, I found that reminding them who actually owns the car brings about the required understanding.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

The Nav pronunciation TSB is 08-084-14, they will only do this if you complain.
14-089 is down as a required update when doing all work. It seems to fix several things and I was actually happy with this update - http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0802114c.pdf

I don't have the lockpick though, so...

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Yes sorry about that... I've referred to the subject update incorrectly as I didn't have the number handy. The update Snuke has linked, 14-089, is the one I insisted was not applied.

Based on the differences between Russell's and my experiences, it appears that the Customtronix rollback is not compatible with this update.

Cheers,
Steve

I wonder exactly what this first line means in the TSB... which is actually just an ordinary Uconnect update, not a WiTech / dealer flash.

You're right. Reading the instructions for the fix, it looks like it is simply upgrading to 14.25.5. But confusion reigns. I picked the car up and they told me that their computer would not talk to my radio because of the non-Australian version of Uconnect. Moreover, they would never be able to do any more updates for that reason. A note by the mechanic ( who is actually pretty good) says that in any case, all the software is at the latest levels. Now I KNOW that the version was 14.22.13 after the rollback, but when I collected it, the version is at 14.25.5. It seems hard to believe that their computer wouldn't talk to my radio, but did the upgrade anyway, and they didn't notice. Unless the fact that my rollback didn't seem to end properly as in an earlier post, had something to do with it.
Not sure what to do next. It seems that if any damage has been done, it is already done. Maybe I'll re-install Lockpick, roll it back, then upgrade to the Australian version of 14.25.5, and take it back to the dealer and see if the process works. Would be good to know why the TSB looks like a simple version upgrade though. Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks,
Russell

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

It is more than a simple Uconnect update, I have had 14.25.5 installed since release. 14-089 has fix my iphone bluetooth streaming issue and a definite change that should be for all, is that the Media button selection no longer results in CD being selected automatically even if there is no disc. Any media input that does not have a presence is now greyed out.
