Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Ok, so I got my care package from Sweden today. Upon inspecting everything and deciding on installation spots, I realized the camera power is not controlled by the radio. I assumed the radio harness would switch power on and off the camera. So this means I have to run constant power to the camera at all times when the engine is running even though I might not be using the camera?

I just wired mine straight to my battery Not sure if thats what everyone else is doing but, I haven't had any issues so I'm not too concerned.

As far as your previous post about Paypal and exchange rates if you ever order anything again from another country here is how to use your banks exchange rate (which should be what it actually is).

Avoid PayPal's High International Currency Exchange Rates by Making One Little Adjustment During Checkout

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

I'm buying a trailer which has a rear view camera mounted on it. I have searched this thread, but can't find answers to the following:
1. Can I connect the trailer camera to my silver package lockpick harness, and if so, are there any specific technical specs with which the camera must comply?
2. Will I be able to show the image from the trailer camera at any speed (I.e. Use it as a rear view mirror)?
3. The camera has audio too (to allow someone to verbally guide reversing too). Can this be connected to the red RCA connector of the lockpick harness, and then, would that mean no music/phone etc while the rear view is being displayed?
If anyone can help here, I'd greatly appreciate it. Plan B is another display on the dash, which I'm hoping Lockpick makes unnecessary.
Thanks,
Russell

1. Yes you can connect your own camera. I wouldn't see why you we need any certain specs to do this.

2. Yes, you can view front cam or cargo cam at any speed.

3. Yes you can hook up your audio. The audio from your camera will only play through the speakers if you go in to aux mode. Other than that it will play your radio when you are done receiving your directions and turn aux mode off.

Chrome cast....

I wanted to ask anyone that had used chrome cast, does it still work for you. Mine stopped working about a month ago. I tested all the pieces involved in troubleshooting. I even tried it in my home to make sure it works. I just get a blue screen now or occasionally scrabbled screen. I did a full uninstall and reinstall and factory reset. That did wipe all my settings. I even bought another hdmi to rca converter thinking it may be that.

I don't understand what went wrong. Closest I can get to getting it to display, the Chromecast first boots and I can see the black screen and small Chromecast lettering on the bottom. That I see for a second or two and it goes blue.

Thanks, but I was able to get the CC working OK in my house so I know it's not that.

Oh I see, must be something with your HD converter or not enough power to one of the two.

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Needs some help? The front camera sometimes does not come on and all I get is a blue screen. Any ideas or suggestions? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the firmware and checked all connections
