 The instructions are fairly simple

down load the utility using chrome, IE has issues with the site (may take approx. 30 min) to a folder on the HD

down load the personal tokens to a folder on the HD

you need a USB stick (4 GB) erased and ready

after the DL unzip the files to a folder

copy the swdl-fo and the swdl along with the version # file to the main root directory on the stick (the version # file is only that a reference for us to know the version)

copy your tokens into a folder named (tokens) on the memory stick

then go to your car place the car in accessory power mode then after the system is fully up and it shows you have 3G service lower right of the display for this is normally when the system is fully booted

insert the usb into the usb reader

you will get a msg that you have version # xxxxxx and that version #xxxxx is available do you wish to update .... touch yes

system will reboot and then will tell you that you will get the same msg again but the ver# will be the same tell it no to that update and then you will be asked about the options that you have from the tokens.

after each of these these it may ask you if you wish to upgrade the main version again but you do not need to reinstall each time just tell it no or wait and for it to skip it.

after the installation the system will reboot again remove the usb stick at this time

after the reboot you will need to power off the car and open the door to allow the full shut down of the system it will take 60-90 seconds for a full shut down.

reactivate the cars power and let the system reboot

some of the uconnect features may not be available such as 911 and contacting uconnect support will come back but the length of time depends on the number of bars that the car is getting from the Sprint uconnect service and how long you have kept the car on during this time

it maybe in my mind but it seems to update faster if you have your phone connected through Bluetooth also this seems to allow the apps to update faster.

one thing that I was told by my Jeep dealer when I took the car in for an adjustment was to always remove features that they can notice such as the front camera so you can either remove that feature by reinserting the usb stick and it will ask you if you wish to remove the features or if you are having issues with the computer system Magnus can provide you with a roll back that will place the entire system back to factory clean.

beyond that just use it and have pleasure of its benefits

I hope that this will help

if there is additional questions you can leave msgs here or send me a pm :arms:

this youtube video is very good to watch the only feature that he talks about is the srt option which is not available unless your car is an srt.

Hey Guys!!

I need your help! I want to get some idears of what features you would like, Of course some of them will never see the light but it´s good to get some input for what you guy´s would like to have. Please feel free to just brainstorm

Im looking into:

Chime´s ( I know for a fact that we will be able to fix )

Revcam (make it not turn off in higher speed, this is much harder since it´s not controlled by the nav, If you cut the Lin bus to the camera it will stay on but you will lose the overlay (park guide). If you can live without the overlay it´s really easy to just remove the Lin bus. We have done this but haven´t checked for any faulty codes with the Witech, it could be good to check that first before you play around)

can you implement changes to the screen behind the dashboard? A small triangle warning icon on the digital screen would be nice for when there is blind spot detection. I've seen the icon message, but it is associated with BSM failure not regular operations.

It would be great if you could figure out how to cross-breed the Australian version that has speed cameras with the north American one that doesn't...and load a database while at it. For an added price of course.

#369 ·
the blind spot thing seems like a bug fthat they probably will fix then, the oproblem we have if there´s something they are going to fix we don´t want to spend time on it.

Will look into the speedcameras, we have the speedcame data base but we have to see if it´s possible to implement it to the software, these features are signed with a specific key and it´s more or less impossible to hack that. best thing would be if it was available to buy as a upgrade! then it would be like stealing candy from a child

Well, I ordered the silver package. Got an email from Customtronix saying my order is being processed. Got an email from PayPal that payment was completed. Then got another email from Customtronix 45 minutes later stating order status changed from pending to on-hold. Back to Customtronix website and my order shows processing. Never received the license email nor links to any downloads. So at thus point I don't know the real status of my order. Emailed Customtronix but will probably take a day before I hear back from them. Disappointed with the order process.

Guys need to be a little patient as the software is created for your vehicle ( VIN number associated with token)

The process will get better, be patient, it is a good product.

The problem was the confusing email. I expected to wait for the shipping and the download. I have just now received the download and the tracking for the shipment which I will have to admit was pretty fast. Thanks

So where's the link to buy one of these?

I ordered yesterday at about 1300 EDT and immediately received a system generated email that my order was received. At about 0000 EDT last night, I received the confirmation that my order was being processed with information about how to pay via PayPal (That's like 0600 in Sweden! Don't you guys sleep!?).

I paid it and went to bed. At 0930 EDT, I received an email with the token, a download link and links to 4 YouTube videos with instructions on how to install it. At 0950 EDT, I received an email from FedEx with my tracking information. This is an unbelievable turnaround. Very fast!

One note that might help get your order processed faster and without confusion: The screen shot below is from the Customtronix website. I copied the 6 questions into the Order Info field on the last screen of the order process and answered each of them individually when I first submitted the order. This is important because this information is used to build your software!

Here is the first half of the process for getting it in the car --

I went to Office Depot and bought this:

Put the USB drive into a USB slot on your computer and open Explorer (My Computer). Right click on the new USB drive and select format. Format with these options:

Now that the USB drive is ready, we can get the Customtronix software.

Here is the email that I received:

Click the link in the email and it takes you to a Mega DL site. Click Download.

The file is a .rar file. I used 7-zip to open the archive. You can get 7-Zip at 7-Zip if you do not already have it. After you've installed 7-zip, right click on your downloaded rar file, hover over 7zip and then select Open Archive.

Click Extract and navigate to the USB drive that you formatted above.

Once the extract is finished (It took a couple minutes on my machine), open the USB drive in Explorer (My Computer) and open the tokens folder. Drag the token attachment from your email to this folder.

Close the USB Explorer window. Go back to the main Explorer window and right click on your USB Drive and select "Eject."

The USB drive is now ready for installation in the car. I'll upload a video of that in a bit.

Awesome work my friend!!! Im very happy that you put this up!, it´s SUPER cool that you share your point of view. It´s pretty easy to do if you foollow the instructions, some times people are to eager to get the JB in he car.

One common problem is that some times Windows is saving the files without the "+" in the token file, for example it should be

12345678912345678+lockout.token

but the computer saves it like this

12345678912345678 lockout.token ( THIS WILL NOT WORK)

One way is to rename it and ad "+". or rename it to just

12345678912345678.token

the reason why why we have the "+lockout" is for us and you to see what features you have, but it´s already in the token.

Just registered an account on their site. Looking forward to the forum pricing and get my order in for Silver.

Those of you that created accounts. About how long until you were able to order at discounted pricing?

EDIT: Account already created and showing discounted pricing

Just installed it.. Video to follow. The process was smooth as described.

I made a post earlier with instructions (and screenshots) for getting the software onto the USB drive for installation, but it is waiting for mod approval (I'm assuming because of the screen shots).
Did you install the camera too? I'm curious if anyone has tips on the install. Easiest way to route the video wire? Power source? Lessons learned? If anyone has input, feel free to add. I have a feeling a lot of people will be trying it in the next few days.

#391 ·
:) I'm going the same route with an AppleTV for AirPlay and thinking about a Roku for games for the little one. I can't wait to get the harness and start really playing.

Also, for CTXSWE -- Looking at the iso, it looks like side-loading apps might not be a particularly tough thing to accomplish. What about the idea of side-loading some apps that are already built for QNX? We're just at the beginning here, but an appstore doesn't seem to terribly far fetched...

Magnus
You mentioned very early on that maybe we can allow our phone to provide data connection to the radio. That may be a good look if other apps become available.

#395 ·
For those who already installed the front camera. Is the front camera powered just by the harness cables? or do we have to get the power for the camera from somewhere else? Have you guys seen Kivic one? According to the video, it allows AirPlay mirror without Internet connection. Looks very promising. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFX3U5e7Ss4

Sorry I haven't had much time to answer questions here lately. SO NICE to see this mod getting the attention it deserves. GREAT work from Customtronix on the product, and people are chipping in for some nice documentation to go along with it!

For camera install, I mostly followed f1anatic's install on another thread (I think he just linked to it above). I pulled the RCA connector and wire from the cabin into the engine bay using a coat hanger, some duct tape and (don't laugh!) some vaseline. Popped that sucker right through. :) To get power I moved the fuse which decides if the rear 12v power supply is powered all the time or only on ignition to the full time slot. I then used the part time slot to get power for the camera. Ground came from two bolts right in front of the fuse block (passenger side engine bay).

As you can see from pix (posted earlier in this thread) I mounted mine high in the grill and set back in. Good news is, it's nicely recessed. Bad news is, I can't see my bumper. I had to use a dremel to do a little bit of grill work to get it there. I'd really like to mount it in the gap between the headlight and the hood located on the inside of the headlight. Would be a good place for a bracket I think that would keep it hidden, but yet still allow view of the bumper. For now, I'm leaving it where it is. Will take me a few tries to get used to where the front bumper is, but after that I don't think my inability to see it will matter.

Thanks Magnus for a GREAT product, and for really taking care of Jeep Garage with the latest pricing. GET THE SILVER or GOLD NOW, the price is fantastic!!

If anyone needs help with anything, feel free to drop me a PM. I've even been know to make calls to help out. I can't always help, but I'm always happy to try!! :)

I want to purchase the silver, but only use the bronze software setup until I have time (and confidence) to add the front camera. Does the harness have to be installed for the silver software to work or will the software basically give me bronze setup until I install the hardware?
