New Member in need of speaker help!

Hi guys/gals i just purchases a used 2011 wk2 laredo this morning! I am a audiphile and can never leave a vehicles sound system alone! Having said that i was checking out the stock tweeters on the doors and wondering how they come off? I see the plastic piece holding them wraps all the way around the window. Does this piece have clips and just "pop off" or am i missing screws? I am pretty good with this stuff but i just got it so id like to do it right the first time before i go breaking stuff! I am planning on doing a huge system in the jeep and i will def keep updating with pics asap! THANKS!!

Re: New Member in need of speaker help!

Thank you for the pdf! The pictures are kind of hard to understand....does the entire door panel have to come off in order to take off the plastic trim the tweeter is housed in?

Re: New Member in need of speaker help!

According to the tweeter removal diagram, the upper part of the trim comes off not the whole the panel. However, if you are going for component speakers and place the crossover network within the door, then it looks like the whole panel comes off. I can not see a way to snake the new wires into the network unless the panel is removed. Hope this helps.

Best for now.

Re: New Member in need of speaker help!

The piece of trim the tweeter is housed in is tucked behind the door panel. So the door panel does have to come off in order to change out the tweeters. I have to take my jeep to the dealer tuesday to get a new key programmed and after that i will tackle the chore and post some pics!
