I just go to "settings" and click on the "more details" button to get the side street names and it's free.

"I just go to "settings" and click on the "more details" button to get the side street names and it's free. "

Oh, I already had "more details" set. I guess it depends on where you are located but, as I said, I live in a rural area and on the maps that came with the car, the "2011" maps that in actuality were pre-2010, there were paved, named roads and side streets that have been here for years that did not show up. Not just the names, the roads weren't there. And there was about a 15 mile portion of the I-520 loop south of Augusta GA from the Savannah River back up to I-20 in SC that has been there for 7 years that was not on the maps that came with the car. Although I think that $160 is a bit steep for a map upgrade, I am happy to have this one and it's not a great amount of money compared to the $35k for the car.

The bad news is that Navteq wants $199 for the update to the maps in my 2011 GMC3500 Sierra Denali 4x4 diesel dually. I haven't bought that one yet, probably because I don't like the Nav unit in the truck. It is a clunker compared to the Garmin unit. I don't even know who makes it but it sucks. Hard to operate, non-intuitive.....maybe I'm just brainwashed by the Garmin units I've used for years.

Re: New Software Update MyGIG RBZ-RB2-RHB / 33.01.23

Thanks SOX, update worked great on my 2011 Jeep!

It actually fixed a weird bug I was having where sometimes I was on media mode, then would want to switch back to radio. After pressing radio, no sound would come out. Even trying to switch back to media no sound would come out. I would have to turn off the Jeep to reset it. Glad it's fixed now!

Now I just need to figure out why my backup camera sometimes does not work. This was happening before the update too. When it does not work, I just get a black screen, yet it still shows at the top "check your entire surroundings". Other times the camera works just fine.

Thanks *sox* for the download and eibyer for the .pdf link, I actually unzipped this to a stick drive and followed the procedure but plugged the stick into the usb port on the face of the unit and worked like a charm. (didn't feel like burning a disk.)

Now if I could only get the unit to display day and night color schemes automatically, always have to go to the menu and change it manually.

Adjust your instrument cluster brightness to one notch down from full bright to make the screen adjust by itself.

Re: New Software Update MyGIG RBZ-RB2-RHB / 33.01.23

FYI, this does not seem to work if burned to a DVD. CDRom worked fine.

Except when it got done with the PND update it went to another update screen where I left it for a few minutes. When I came back it asked for a security code. This was not in the instructions and I couldn't find one if I ever had it to begin with, so I turned the truck off and left for a few minutes. Came back and the update started again but this time it when it asked about the base files I answered 'NO'. Then it said the PND was already up to date, and the software version was also matched. Good to go!

Anyone have any idea why the radio screen is still blue?

Curious if you had to do anything special on the USB flash drive? I tried unzipping all files to it and followed the directions so instead of putting in CD I put in flash drive into the USB port on the face. Waited up to 10 min and nothing. Any ideas?

I dont have a CD laying around right now and was trying to avoid having to get one.

Re: New Software Update MyGIG RBZ-RB2-RHB / 33.01.23

I updated this worked like a charm but now my travel link comes up but when I press weather or any thing regarding location ( weeather, Ski, Gas station, movies ) it says it is loading data I left it on for about 15 mins while driving and nothing changed . I know its connecting to Sirius because when I look up sports scores they work so it is something to do with the location that is messing it up. Also when clicking on the state no city's come up.
anybody else having this issue ?

Re: New Software Update MyGIG RBZ-RB2-RHB / 33.01.23

Ok I figured it out I'm posting incase others have same issue .
I re did the update with my car outside my garage( I don't get a location on my GPS or Sirius signal) I guess during the update it is important to make sure you have signal to Sirius or GPS not sure what one but most likely if you have one you will have another.
