New system void warranty??

So I'm new to the forum. Just got a new 2014 jeep grand cherokee limited Monday. And I like bass. Does anybody know if adding an aftermarket sub will void the warranty

Re: New system void warranty??

It could void the warranty on the radio/head unit, if they determine the sub caused a problem. Otherwise no ... IMHO.

Re: New system void warranty??

As Bill said, no this will not void your express warranty...However, as Bill also correctly stated, if your vehicle experiences a fault that can reasonably be traced to the modification as the causation of the fault, they may refuse to remedy the defect under the express warranty.

Re: New system void warranty??

Greetings,

Since you like bass and if you push it up to the SPL (heavy hitting) level, with this JGC, I strongly recommend going with CLASS D amps. Class D will not draw that heavy of a load as compared to the A/B designed amps as in the old days. It is also a great idea to put a small secondary battery in as the reserve buffer. It is far better than capacitors.

One of the problems the service tech from dealer told me a while back, a drain could effect and damage another system.

Best for now.
