Tried that Saturday evening. It was as slow as ever, if not slower. I typically start the radar map; go out of it then go back to it - and it used to work. Not anymore.

Re: Not getting weather map data

Anyone have a STAR case on this issue yet? I'm taking mine in on this issue for the 3rd time next week to see what can be done. Stupidly, I did not make them push for a STAR case. Make sure you push the dealer to document the problem on the RO. Since, I have had mine since May, the non-functionality of this has burnt through 4 months of Travel-Link Service.

Re: Not getting weather map data

They seem to point the finger at each other. No one wants to take responsibility for the slow uselessness of the feature. I can understand that they may (or not) be working on a fix. The issue I have is the loss of use. It can be more than 20 minutes before I get the data. (If I get it) Right now it's free but it sure doesn't promote paying for the service once the trial runs out. I doubt if I could talk them into a free extension. Maybe a discount after the trial but even then why pay extra for things that don't work. The same could be said for the u-connect apps.

Re: Not getting weather map data

I have a feeling that when the hundred thousand or more people with the trial subscriptions begin to turn down paying for the services that aren't ready for prime time, someone higher up the food chain is going to take notice. This is not going to bode well for either Sirius/XM or Uconnect people who are tasked with getting these features online and working. You can limp along only so long before you fall down.

Re: Not getting weather map data

I have the same problem - though the work around works for me. I hit the VR button - speak weather - it comes up - with no radar - I exit to Nav. I wait a couple of mins - repeat process - weather data is there. Yes annoying. Also - whats really annoying is - I live in NJ and the freakin pointer (jeep or arrow) takes up half the state. If there is a cell coming at you - you cant see it because of the abnormally large pointer.

I just got out of an MDX with the weather feature from sirius xm. Worked flawless - but - it also had to download the data. It took about a minute. Jeep takes longer. Issue with the jeep - it will tell you it last updated at xx time - but not display the weather. The acura would say last updated -- so u knew it wasnt done updating. Honestly - I think our hardware is slow and the processor is overburdened. Im starting to get annoyed with the nav and how long it takes to get going - re routing - etc. The hardware could be an issue - and im wondering if the weather is subject to timeouts becaus eof the slow hardware.

by the way - as another aside -- a couple of times I didnt go thru by process of VR then exit to nav -- I brought it up - no weather - I called sirius - they 'resent the signal' and it popped up with weather.

Hope those engineers are paying attention to the issue - I suspect its a hardware issue and just plain old slow - with timeouts.

Jeepman917,
Did you update uconnect to 13.38.52? That greatly improved the responsiveness for me. Close to instant weather map updates now.

Re: Not getting weather map data

Be patient everybody. All the computer techs have been redeployed to get the obumble care computers working. They will be back as soon as that system is working.

And, now that we will probably cut back on listening to foreign leaders' phone calls, Jeep should be able to get the NSA to take care of any cell phone pairing.

All in good time.

That's great news. My system info indicates version 13.19.0. Is this something that I need to take to the dealer to get updated or can I update this myself? If so, how?

Never mind, I found the thread. Damn, I've got some reading to do to catch up on all of this.

Re: Not getting weather map data

Ok, successfully updated to 13.38.52 this morning. Went to weather map and no weather data. Then I realized there wasn't a cloud in the sky. In fact, not much happening weather wise anywhere in the country right now according to the weather map on my iPad. So I'll have to wait for some weather action to test this out. Let's hope this solves the problem. Thanks for the tip.
