OEM 9 speaker system

Has Anyone added the Oem setup with the rear pillar speakers and sub?? Wish I would have just found an Altitude that already had the option but I'm looking to add it. Is this possible?

Re: OEM 9 speaker system

Greetings,

If you carefully google for OEM parts, you can find the part numbers or head over to the Jeep Parts Dealer. Make sure that you have the right OEM Headunit to support it.

Is it worth it? I would suggest you carefully listen to it first. Here, in the forum will find mix opinions on the quality of the system.

Best for now.

The sound actually coming out of those speakers is marginal at best. Just my humble opinion but if you're looking for better sound your time and money would be better spent elsewhere.

My 9 speaker system sounds great to me, the wife, and anyone that has ever ridden with me.

Some people are just to picky...

It gets loud and drowns out road noise and the annoying shit next to me at the red light with the 'thumping' bass.

Not really picky, more spoiled. I managed a high end audio shop for a while so I always had access to great equipment.

The 9 speaker OEM system does sound good for a factory option, but the money and time it would take to add the OEM parts to "upgrade" to this option after the fact would be pretty substantial. I was just saying that putting that money into aftermarket equipment would be a better option for the money/sound quality results.

Re: OEM 9 speaker system

Greetings,

If you are into hi-end audio, their is no question at all that the Alpine 9 Speaker system does not hit the standards of hi-end audio. I am sorry to say that this is true.

I have done many of home audio sales and installation of hi-end audio. I have also sold car audio hi end equipment for sound quality systems that our partner installation service did the physical work. Therefore, after over 3 decades, I fore sure know the difference.

As I have said here in the forum over the last couple of years, sound is perception of the individual. The Alpine system was design for the general public as a basic system just above the standard. The best way to tell the difference is demo the Alpine system and then go to a hi-end shop to listen to a completed install. It does not have to a WK2.

In my system, if I want to really go hi-end, I would go for Masconi DSP/Amps and Rainbow speakers. Can I afford that, no.

So once again in this never ending debate, which has mixed views on both, you have to demo the Alpine and see how it sound against a hi end system. Yes, their is middle ground to make the system significantly better.

Best for now.

You make a VERY good point.

Trying to buy the OEM parts would end up costing way more than going with a good aftermarket setup.
