Options to replace 430N?

So, I have a 2013 Trailhawk with the 430N uConnect and Alpine subwoofer. What are the best options for a replacement that will keep the armrest USB and the steering wheel controls?

Is there such a beast.

Yes i searched... No i didnt find anything i liked to read. ;-)

Re: Options to replace 430N?

It's not easy replacing these factory provided head units because they are so integrated with other portions of the vehicle's electrical and control systems...

Re: Options to replace 430N?

Your best bet is to call Crutchfield, as ask. I'm sure there's aftermarket harnesses which retain many of the features. But yeah, these systems are a huge pain to replace, or upgrade.

Re: Options to replace 430N?

Get an adapter from pac-audio as well as their video interface if you have VES in the rear. Get a refurb Kenwood dnn990hd from ebay with extended warranty for approx 700.00. And call it a day. All in all you will have everything including steering wheel controls you only lose uconnect if equipped. Ill even buy your 430N off ya for 300 for my GFs rig as for usb you can use a extension for usb into the center console and have usb access from there

Re: Options to replace 430N?

The challenge is that in today's vehicles, "nothing" is just "drop in" because of the electrical and electronics systems within the vehicle. You can adapt many great sound systems to work, but it takes special adapters and other accommodations to insure you don't lose vehicle functionality when you take out the OEM system which is so integrated into other things.

It's fairly easy.

Double din dash kit from Scoche or Metric

What ever headunit double din you want. I like Kenwood.

Follow directions for install. Did this in mine when I went ahead and did a full audio install. Took my a few hours and life was grand.

Greetings,

Besides the excellent ones you have mentioned for the OP, the OP can look into kits from Metraonline, Cruz and look into iDatalink.

As fellow member SUBBIE09 suggests, any headunit you like. I have the Pioneer AppRadio 3 or otherwise go with the Kenwood. It all boils down to your upgrade path. Do you want to keep a surround sound system or go with a traditional front, rear and sub set up.

As long as you get the right harness and it is install correctly, you should not have a problem. You will most likely run a new usb cable from the HU to were ever you want the connection plug to be.

Best for now.
