Overland 730 Nav question

On my old Garmin units and many others I've seen I can simply type in the NAME of a location, ie: Best Buy, Ted's Tuxedo Shop and so on. Very useful when you're looking for a Best Buy or other shop without an address!

I've seen some units, like the mediocre one in my Mitsubishi, that will ONLY go by address and the VERY limited groups set in the category section.

I'm hoping the 730 is not crippled in this way...?

Thanks

RB

Re: Overland 730 Nav question

Yes the 730N will do this but its POI database seems to not be as good as the 430N Garmin. I wouldn't say very limited, but it will do strange things.

Re: Overland 730 Nav question

You can also use voice control to find POI's. Just say "Find (name)" and follow the prompts. If it's in the DB a list will come up on the screen. This is much faster than typing, although not every POI is in the system.
