Re: Parts list to remove the '14 CD player

We have just ordered a Limited CDR with Sunroof, also requested the CD player be removed from factory. Delivery expected December. We will see if it can be removed at the factory level or by the dealer. Haven't used a CD player in 5 years.

You don't say where you are.
In the US and Canada it can be ordered without CD on the Ltd.

For those in Aus it can't be ordered without CD.

Adelaide Australia. We can only try and hope. The new Jeep brochure doesn't even mention a CD player.

Re: Parts list to remove the '14 CD player

For those that want to swap out the CD player with Laredo buyers who want the CD, will the Laredo have the wiring harness it place for the Cd player to function properly?

If I had a Laredo, and swapped with someone with a Limited, i'd want to be certain the CD player will work.

The new bin has an led light in it to illuminate the box but there was not a harness connection to connect it to per the mechanic. I should have had him connect it to the lights that illuminate the two usb port just below in the back since it was all tore apart. Oh well! Its great to have the huge bin back so I can fill it for of stuff! Hope this helps. Any suggestions on how I might go about selling the CD player? Thanks!
Just a follow up on this, how difficult is this replacement job? Could it be performed by the owner? And last do you have to remove the seats to get to the bin?
Any extra information would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Parts list to remove the '14 CD player

Hi, I'm a newby here having just ordered my Laredo which should come in November. Can anyone tell me if the CD player takes away the power outlet in the centre console, or is there still an outlet available?

Thanks

There is still a power outlet in there, you can see a photo in the first few posts of this thread

The Official "I want to remove my '14 CD Player" thread

The Laredo does not come with the CD player (as standard) but I'm sure there are a few people (me included) who would gladly swap their CD player for a Laredo empty bin if you wanted...

Re: Parts list to remove the '14 CD player

I would be interested in adding it.
I am all for a ton of music on a usb stick or memory card but what happens when you get a hold of a cd and want to listen to it on the spot.
I would still want the option.
Since most others with non Jeep vehicles around you still have cd players it is something most would be surprised the capable Jeep cant do.

I'm pretty sure the GC's going to Australia don't have the power outlet in the back centre console but....you can probably fit an inverter in if you plan on taking the centre console apart.
