Re: Perfect iPhone Spot...Almost

I prefer to keep my iPhone as close to eye level as possible, so I used the KUDA® OEM Leather-Mount - iPhone GPS handsfree - for JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (since 2011) black (299435) and the ProClip Adjustable Charging Holder with Tilt Swivel and Cigarette Lighter Adapter Apple iPhone 4/4S used with a Case (521165). I routed the power cable into the air vent and through a small hole I cut with a Dremel that is just big enough to allow the USB plug to pass through. I sealed the hole with some metal foil tape, so it's airtight. I have the Dark Frost Beige (aka brown) interior, but the looks of black leather of the mount and the black plastic holder don't bother me at all. I removed the top vane from the vent and it's fully functional (i.e., up, down, left, right). I keep my iPhone in a case and it slips into and out of the holder with no fuss at all. The last photo shows just the case in the holder, because I used my iPhone to take the photos and was too lazy to get another camera.

Re: Perfect iPhone Spot...Almost

Great mount!
Personally I prefer the traditional charging via dock cable, I use the iphone in the office and charge there from the notebook, hardly ever do I need to charge it in the car but I use the car frequenlty and the phone slides into the cradle without any effort.

Re: Perfect iPhone Spot...Almost

Just picked up this new mounting solution. Was a little skeptical but it works great. It's easily movable and should work on any car. Drove around with it today and it hangs tough; does not move.

Running the Torque app on my SG2

This is what my phone is hanging on to. A small magnet the clips on the the vent.

Here's a close up. The head turns to open and close the grip. Just need to connect a small magnet to the back of your phone.

Magnet does not interfere with the operations of the phone. I also have a case on mine so the magnet is not directly attached to my phone. Comes with 3 different size magnets. I am using the smallest one and again doesn't move. Picked this up for about $25. Overall I am very happy with this solution.

Ebay? Could be ok but doesn't have to. How close to the steering wheel is this with steering wheel in front position? (You don't want to collide with it while turning the wheel).
