The slightest crackle or buzz and I'll be on the phone. Point is though for any of you professional audio guys, the concensus is not to worry....right?!
Nothing stopping you from letting the dealer know that this sort of nonsense does nothing to enhance the new buyer experience, especially when it's with a vehicle that is supposed to be the saving grace from a company that had one foot in the grave. The prep crew needs to get the memo that they are a critical link in the customer experience process. Wow, this should be Customer Service 101...

Re: Picked Up our new Overland V8...just a surprise when I turned on the radio...

perfect 10-

Trust me, the speakers can handle it. I have been attempting to blow the speakers every day with the most obnoxious, loud, teeth rattling bass that the system can handle, always turned all the way up, ALL the way up. They wont blow. I'll try again tomorrow.

The speakers seem to hold the bass real well for a factory system. The amp and speakers are clearly of above average quality. They will hold, trust me.

If DJ Magic Mike didn't blow them in my car then nothing that the person in your car before you was listening to will blow yours, or affect the sound in any way shape or form.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the artist that is DJ Magic Mike, it's all about the bass.

Re: Picked Up our new Overland V8...just a surprise when I turned on the radio...

DJ Majic Mike - his cassette has gone MP3!?

I sincerely doubt any damage was done to your new ride, however - with a warranty, I'd be sure to "test" it once more (or, maybe once weekly) to make sure it is OK over the next 30k miles. May I suggest some bass rich rock like the new Foo Fighters CD, Serj Tankian, A Perfect Circle, or maybe some sweet old school hiphop like A Tribe Called Quest?

I too would be a little annoyed that the radio was left on "full monty" for you, that kind of crap should be eliminated by the service manager who is supposed to put his hands on the vehicle last before delivery. That is a shame.

That's funny, I used to use his cassettes to test all of my systems. Guess that is why my hearing sucks now!!

What??? I couldn't hear you, speak up!!!

I used to put on Magic Mike back in my high school days (1995 or so) when I had my 1000 watt MTX amp and my 4 10" Rockford Fosgate subs in my truck.

I have had the stereo in my Jeep up all the way a few times already. It's all good.
