Pioneer double Din in 2007 WK limited

Question. I found a pretty sweet deal on a used pioneer double din avic x940bt along with xm receiver. It was previously installed and uninstalled by best buy. Person said it was in a 2008 dodge caravan. And included is the harness and trim plate used to install. What are the chances it is the one I will need? I currently have the REC unit with navi/Sirius/back up camera/Boston Acoustics.
I've read I can modify the wiring from the back up camera to be used in an aftermarket headunit. I will be purchasing the module to retain steering wheel button controls. Other than that. Will there be anything else I'll need? Besides harness and trim plate if the ones included aren't the ones I need? Also I installed a standard pioneer headunit in my last 3 vehicles including my 2004 GC. How much more difficult is a unit with navi to install?
Thanks in advance
Jason.

Re: Pioneer double Din in 2007 WK limited

I had a 930bt in my 07.

You can check PAC audio to see if harness the same otherwise you need.
Plus.
Steering wheel module
Relay for the e brake hack.
Hack harness move one pin....Google.

I needed an interface to connect suriusxm to 930bt.....its capable but needs interface.

Also needed non OEM Sirius box. Reused OEM antenna for Sirius. Need an antenna adapter for fender antenna.

I think you may still need a metra ddin plastic kit since rec is actually smaller.

Should come with iPod cable/USB combo otherwise add that too.

Thanks Rob. Antenna adapter would be the same as from my 04? This unit is coming with an XM receiver and antenna So I would be installing that. I guess my stock Sirius receiver and antenna will be staying put, unused. How is the install of a unit like this vs a regular head unit?
How did you like the unit? Big upgrade over the REC I'm guessing.

Just checked the pac site and only thing would be the same is the steering wheel control module. Lol. The radio harness would be a different. Oh well. But I see they sell a combo kit harness and steering wheel control module together. Not bad.

Re: Pioneer double Din in 2007 WK limited

I went from a radio to the 930.

What an awesome unit.

I did buy some upgrade that caused some weird issues so be careful.

It was easy to hack the bid to play any time. Like I said I only had to move one pin and ground a wire.

I had the full kicker system with single sub too.

Sounds like you good for Sirius.

IPod connector is something might need. One I had was both iPod or Mp3

Install was rather easy..... Steering wheel controls always worked but what they controlled changed and had to be reset a few times.

awesome. thanks again Rob. 1 more question. I have the XMD-1000 receiver from my previous pioneer head unit any idea if that works with the newer pioneer head units such as this one or do I need to get the GEX-P920? I'm also thinking maybe another unit such as 1 with the full 7inch fold down screen with the slot behind. But this deal seems really good.
thanks again
