Re: Possible Fix for sleeping AMP

I was at the dealer last week to have this TSB applied along with some service. I told the service writer that I had already performed the USB download which then effected my amp. He acted as if he knew what I was talking about. When I get the car back I see they did the R40 recall and not the TSB. So, back to the dealer with the bulletin printed up and handed to them personally.

Same thing happened to me. When I picked up the jeep he said that the computer isn't telling him there is a new update to the amp. No idea what's going on with it. He showed me the computer screen when connected to my jeep and it wasn't saying anything about a possible up date for it. Anyone else having this issue?

It's not an upgrade, they call it a customer concern notice or something to that effect.

Possible Fix for sleeping AMP

So, I took my 2014 JGC Limited in for its second oil change (bought it in March 2015). Told them I needed the firmware update for the amp. "No, not the recall, there is a service bulletin on it, 08-083-15." Midway through the process he comes out to confirm the amp issue and I repeat the service bulletin and what it is doing. The work gets done, service manager comes to get me. Says the firmware is correct BUT they discovered a short in the amp and have ordered a replacement. (Huh?)

In fairness, in addition to the "sleep" issue, it did that s odd thing with volume levels. I might have it on 15 but when I would stop and change the volume it now reads 10. Sometimes when driving and I change the volume it would be very low, like a 2, but would be at a higher volume. I attributed it perhaps to the speed volume control. It was set to medium and I run the sunroof open a lot. I figured that be a factor.

We will see what happens when they swap out the unit.

b.b.

Re: Possible Fix for sleeping AMP

There's a new revision of the TSB now
http://wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0808315b.pdf

Don't know what's different/new in REV. B but it supersedes the previous REV. A

Re: Possible Fix for sleeping AMP

I had my 20k service today, and I asked for the amp update ... the guy said no update available (I'm in Dubai- UAE) very weird as I gave him the TSB .. and he still said no update. I might have to try different garage.

Possible Fix for sleeping AMP

Grrr. Took mine in. They applied a bunch of updates, HVAC, PCM, TCM and something called the software flash for RFH. Anybody know what RFH is? The radio exhibits the same issue, so they didn't appear to actually flash the amp.
