Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

I'm gonna guess on a hunch. They probably won't be putting to much r&d into unconnect any more(not that they ever did) with android/Apple CarPlay taking over the markets. Most auto companies are going that route

It's been a lot better with the updated apps. The new send n' go feature and vehicle locator have me thinking about subscribing...

Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

I got a 6 month promo when I got my jeep a year and a half ago. When I had it everything seemed to work fine. I would send it command to start and about a couple mins later it would start. I didn't think anything of it because I'm sending a command through the internet so I expect it to take time to reach the car. Didn't renew though because the app without a doubt is the worst pos app I've ever encountered. These fools want $14.99 a month yet I have to cross my fingers and hope the app connects without me having to re-login and or relaunch the app.

Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

Mine is good for a year from the day I bought the car.. It will go off line in April. I like to play with the phone / remote start, but there is no way I would pay a monthly fee for it. It's nothing but a gimmick play toy. The FOB works well enough for that. I've never tested the range on it though. I'll have to start playing with it and see just how far away I can get.

Mine takes around 90 seconds to 2 minutes.... When it works. Sometimes I'll get a, "Remote Start Command Cannot Be Completed At This Time", or some such. The location is very accurate....... Again, when it works. It will even tell me which side of the garage it's parked in, (like I don't know). But occasionally I'll get the, "Vehicle Cannot Be Located At This Time", response. Another time it showed the car in a Wal-Mart parking lot, when it was in the garage for over 3 hours.

As far as all the other crap on U-Connect, I just don't use it, or have a need for it. I've been finding gas stations and pizza parlors for 50 years now. I don't need a machine to help me do it. I do like the navigation. I hope that doesn't go away.

Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

Agreed the service is worth 5 bucks a month tops... Not sure how they expect anyone to pay 20 dollars a month for this!

Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

Worked every time Ive used it....and thats alot. Worth every penny of the 17 per month to me. I can just tap an address on my phone...uconnect app icon pops on and i send the address. Very easy. I also start it 10-15 minutes before I leave work and its warm or cool. Seats on....steering wheel...etc. maybe little creature comforts are worth it to someone who works long hours and then comes home and works more?

Yea but the key fob's range will work from anywhere inside your house... So how is it worth 20 bucks for the inputting address feature?

Only time I've ever needed to use my phone to remote start the car because my key fob was out of range was when my plane landed at the air port and my car was in long term parking.

For people who's key fob's range is enough there is no point to paying this much for address input. Just saying 5 bucks a month would get them a lot more subscribers... 20 bucks a month people don't think twice to run away from.

Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

This is not inside my house. My SRT is garaged. Im talking when at work or ither various places in public. I doubt the key fib would work through walls and buildings. And its $14.99 per month for the whole package...which like i said above...is a good value for me.

I'm just saying, the uconnect pricing model is trash. Whoever is behind it needs some lessons. They need to retool it they are missing out on a huge market share. Think about how many jeeps are sold with 8.4a/8.4AN's. 99% won't pay 15 bucks a month for the service. I'd honestly love to see number of eligible vehicles sold out of initial trial period vs actual number of subscribers. The retention rate is probably miserable. You can't expect people to pay premium pricing for something that isn't a necessity to anyone.

Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

$180.00 a year to start my car with a phone, and look up gas and pizza prices. I'll pass. I can damn near buy a case of 9 MM for that!
