2 separate things. Gas prices and movie times are via XM radio.
Uconnect is vehicle location, start/stop, unlock/lock, panic, and send n' go

Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

Yep^^^

Send n go and vehicle located is spot on. Even more accurate then the find my iPhone app.
Worth the 17 bucks I pay a month along with NAV and ability to remote start from my phone.

It amazes me how many bitch about the pricing. Onstar is similar and sux balls.

Oh an I'll continue paying for the service and still have enough to buy .40 rounds for my sig and S&W.

Is 2015 the only year they tossed in unconnect for 5 years? I don't even use it for free

With all this arguing and the fact that my gas spending per month is down almost $60... I think I'm convinced to subscribe!

What does the price of gas have to do with the price of U-Connect? Reminds me of this joke.......

Woman: Do you drink beer?
Man: Yes

Woman: How many beers a day?
Man: Usually about 3

Woman: How much do you pay per beer?
Man: $5.00 which includes a tip.

Woman: And how long have you been drinking?
Man: About 20 years, I suppose

Woman: So a beer costs $5 and you have 3 beers a day which puts your spending each month at $450. In one year, it
would be approximately $5400 correct?
Man: Correct

Woman: If in 1 year you spend $5400, not accounting for inflation, the past 20 years puts your spending at $108,000, correct?
Man: Correct

Woman: Do you know that if you didn't drink so much beer, that money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account, and after accounting for compound interest for the past 20 years, you could have now bought a
Ferrari?
Man: Do you drink beer?

Woman: No
Man: Where's your Ferrari?

My household works on a budget system. If I can add in some creature comforts like uconnect without actually increasing my outgoing expenses per month, I can with good conscious make the decision to pay for a service that isn't necessarily needed.

My family's income will continue to grow but hopefully we can keep the same living expenses. So far it works and we are winning!

You really see the value in this for 15 a month? You can get free cellphone service from ringplus (which is sprint just like uconnect) and leave the phone hidden plugged into a charger in your car if you really care about location.

The value is just not there... For 5 dollars maybe but 15? I have the money to throw away but I just won't based on the fact that they pulled this number out of their asses. You guys are delusional.

Nope never said it was worth $15. In fact I said it's not a necessity. Many luxuries in life are not worth the money but we choose to partake. Hell I don't need a 475HP SUV either...

Bingo. There is no value in paying $15.00+ a month for U-Connect. I won't buy it based on that lack of value. Not because the cost is going to hurt me one way or the other. There are a thousand items I can spend $15.00 a month on, that possess much better value. U-Connect simply doesn't have it.

They charge 4 digits for it at the dealer, which is overpriced as it is. Even if it came "free" for life after that, which it should as far as I'm concerned. I never would have ordered it if it wasn't on the car we bought. As it stands it's just another way to get their hands into your pockets on a monthly basis, so you won't notice it. How many people would have $150.00 a month I-Phones if they had to pay for the yearly contract up front, minus interest? So instead they bleed you on a monthly basis, and you don't notice it as much. This is no different.

Re: Promotional Trial for Uconnect

If you like the service then by all means buy it. It's your money. I don't drink much, smoke or buy ammo(I reload). We all have something in our lives that others would consider foolish to spend money on.

I like the fact that I can start my car at the end of a movie, dinner, or just shopping with my wife and have the car warmed up for her. It's a small thing, but it makes her more comfortable. She's very cold blooded and winter here is challenging enough for her.
