If I lived in a frigid climate, perhaps then it might be worth it. But with how fast the Jeep delivers heat after a dead cold start, even then I doubt it. (I reload as well. But it's not worth it to reload 9 MM at under $10.00 a box for factory ammo.)

Unfortunately I don't shoot any of the female calibers.

If it wasn't so cold here I would never use it enough to justify the cost. I mainly use it in my Ram as my SRT stays in the garage all winter.

Neither do the thousands of police and military who shoot the 9 MM.

It's not like they have a lot of say in the matter.

LOL... If you're shooting a .40 you most certainly are. That's what the FBI settled on when they found out their female agents couldn't manage the recoil of the 10mm they originally planned on going with.

For the most part, that's true. I was lucky enough to work in a county that allowed you to carry anything as long as you qualified with it. I started off with a 9mm Beretta 92F when most of the departments around here were using the investment cast junk known as the Ruger P85. And while most departments issued subsonic 147gr Winchester Silvertip ammo I carried 124gr +P Federal Hydra-Shok.

Loved the Beretta, still do. When departments started switching to the .40 S&W I switched to a .45 ACP Glock 21 with 185gr Hornady XTP +P loads at 1150 fps. With 2-shot mag extenders I was carrying the same number of rounds as I did with my Beretta.

Springfield .45 ACP for me. I also have a Ruger PC4 Carbine (.40 cal) which I guess is a girls gun. I believe it was supposed to replace shotguns(for the Ladies) in squad cars as well as using the same mags as the Ruger P85 pistol. It's a fun plinker and fairly accurate, but it never caught on with law enforcement. I've maybe put a 100 rounds through it.

BTW. Thanks for your service.

Very true. And what's funny is with all the screwing around with guns and calibers the FBI did after the 1986 Miami shootout, they are returning to the 9 MM. The .40 S&W turned out to be a solution to a non existent problem. (Good to see we got some gun guys on here).
