For the 2014 models, it was 15.26.

I'm sorry I forgot to list that mine is 2015 Grand Cherokee. Is that still the same software I would use?

Not sure. I think so, but there were some differences between the 2014 and 2015. Don't install anything until you are sure it is the correct release for your vehicle. There should be a failsafe in the installation, but I'd personally rather not rely on those to work properly.

Re: PSA: You may want to hold off on Uconnect 5/2016 update

The last version I had installed prior to the Siri Hands Free update on my 2015 was 15.17.5. This version was the one included the coding to block the hackers from accessing the vehicle. I would call UConnect and ask them to provide you with the correct update based on your VIN or take it to a dealership and have them roll it back to the correct update.

If anyone is having issues with their system in a similar fashion as mine, and if they tell you that they are unsure about any other reports on this have them reference case # 29330099. I had a well documented call with a helpful technician. My issues are specifically with the radio freezing when an iPod is connected via the USB hub. I do owe them a call to inform them that after rolling back to 15.17.5 everything works as it should which pretty much confirms that the 16.16.3 release has some issues.

Does it seem that the problems are confined to one model year or is it affecting all of them?

I'm not sure about that. I've got a 2015. The case number I referenced is the case I logged with UConnect regarding my issues with the USB Hub & iPod causing the everything in the radio/nav/controls to freeze. I got the impression from the technician that this wasn't the first issue he had fielded since while troubleshooting he kept referencing other cases and known issues. He also mentioned a disclaimer on their website about this release but I'll be darned if I can find it.

Basically, I spent time with him relaying to him every thing I tried on my own and letting him know what was happening. I beat him to the punch on the troubleshooting as there was nothing left to try other than roll back.

There is a new update to the software for GC MY2015 that just came out on 5/19/16. Maybe it will fix some of the issues from the one that came out earlier in May

It doesn't show a new one for me. 16.16.13 is still popping up. What is the new version number?

I spent an hour on the phone with support and they put me through a routine of turning off bluetooth on my phone. Putting the ignition in ACC mode and pressing the Green Phone and VR buttons simultaneously for 30 seconds and then doing the door open and shut routine twice.

Sounded promising but has not cured the problem of randomly switching to media mode from radio mode.

My 2014 JGC Limited (June 14 build) is doing the same thing. I have an iPod plugged into the USB port all the time as well. Intermittently it will freeze the radio controls. It acts like a lag. The iPod continues to play but the screen will be behind. Eventually it will catch up an run normally but until then the 8.4AN radio screen freezes, nothing will work. Climate controls, navigation, nothing till it catches up.

And it doesn't do it all the time.

I think I will switch to bluetooth music and see if it still occurs.

I am having all of these symptoms on my 2014 Summit and the phone will freeze randomly.

I think I am having the same problem, either way I am having an issue for sure.

I notice that I will be listening to radio or SAT radio if anything happens to my phone like I scroll through Instagram and a video loads it automatically switches to media or sometimes just randomly switches? Any luck with this its so frusturating.
