I currently have 15.17.5 installed (the hacking recall update). It's pretty stable, but lately I've been having a lot more of the issues where nav tells me to take an exit and get right back on based on outdated traffic information or lack of traffic information for the path it chooses as a better path. I've also had ongoing issues with the VR system having trouble understanding destination names for the nav. Minor complaints, really, but I'd be happy to see it improved.

The 16.16.13 update (for model year 2015) is currently the latest available version, but many have complained about lagging/freezing in that version on this thread. Several have mentioned conversations with FCA reps that indicated there would be an update to fix those issues in August 2016 and recommended they roll back their version until then. That update has yet to materialize, from what I've gathered. Just wondering if anyone had heard a new time we should expect that update, if that even means anything.

Angry Re: PSA: You may want to hold off on Uconnect 5/2016 update

I've had 16.13.13 installed on my 2014 Summit for quite some time now and it's been the most unstable version I've used. My biggest problem is with the system locking up. It gets to a point where you can't change audio sources, radio stations, change the climate control...nothing works. I always end up having to hold down the volume button and tune button to reset the unit to get it back up and running. Anyone else having this issue?

Perhaps the tuning button is sticking a bit or there's a short in the connection that could be triggered by something like turning the wheel.

Perhaps giving the tuning button a few good solid presses will "unstick" it.

We occasional have issues with random behavior from dirty keys on keyboards. Considering how dirty the car environment is, it could cause the same type of issue.

Re: PSA: You may want to hold off on Uconnect 5/2016 update

Any news on this problem of uConnect hanging after plugging phone into USB hub? I have the problem on my 2014 WK2 diesel. it started when 16.13.13 was installed (the Siri hands-free update).

I've visited the dealer service department several times. They have reloaded 16.13.13 at least two times (maybe more). They replaced the uConnect radio/computer (8.4 730n). Since the problem started I've moved from an iPhone 6s to a 7, tried different cable, and of course multiple versions of iOS. The radio has been through multiple resets. Nothing has made any difference. I did manage to get the vehicle to the dealer once while it was actually failing. They told me they connected some kind of computer to it and actually saw error messages that were not there when the system was working (all previous visits).

I have case # 30087504 open with a case manager. But I'm not convinced that anyone is doing anything to diagnose or fix the problem. Any other news?

I believe I have a similar issue, except its when i plug in my media USB stick into it. Also it happens at random (maybe once every other day). Only way to "fix it" is for me to shut off the car completely, wait about a minute then restart (this reboots the system).

I tried unplugging the USB while its hung, and switch to Radio or another source, but it stays hung. I tried doing a reinstall of the firmware for the radio twice. Tried reformatting the USB stick as well, but same issue.

I just got used to it, but I'm anxiously waiting for another update, hoping it fixes this issue. I should note that this issue starting happening after the latest update. I may also opt out for replacing the entire unit once the new Uconnect units start rolling out (the one that has the upgraded interface and Carplay).

Let me know how Chrysler resolves your issue.

I also have the same problem whenever I plug in a USB or SD card. I have been patiently waiting for the promised update to fix this; but I am growing weary.

Same here..last update we got was back in April I believe. Some new Dodge models are already rolling out the new units, and from doing a bit of research i think i will eventually sell my RA3 unit and upgrade to the latest unit if possible since I also want the Navi.

Re: PSA: You may want to hold off on Uconnect 5/2016 update

Any "update" on this situation? I have a 2014 and installed the 16.13.13 update and have been having freezing/media switching/volume issues ever since and will be reverting back to the 15.26.1 UNLESS there is something I am missing? VERY frustrating there has not been an update on uConnect's website...I have checked my VIN and the site is saying the 16.13.13 is the most current...did this "August 2016" update ever come to fruition?

AND I just want to give out props to our resident JG uConnect "guru"*sox* WE are very lucky to have him around!!!

Merry Xmas/Happy Holidays everyone!

Here is what the lag looks like when it happens in my 2014 JGC running the 16.13.13 software. Watch the time bar.
