Re: Purchasing 2011 OVerland, confused about RER vs RHR

In Canada, RHR is standard on the current Overland...same in US?

Re: Purchasing 2011 OVerland, confused about RER vs RHR

RHR was supposed to be standard but last I knew the RHB 403N was standard. It was changing all the time due to the phase out of RER and the not yet available RHR so RHB was used. Hence the $305 credit or later upcharge for the RHR (and even the RER) when RHB was used or made standard respectively.

I would do the RHR....I have it....very happy. And the nav lady is much nicer than with my 2005 REC.

Somewhere I read that the RHR was $1995 but the RER had been $2695.....dunno for sure but with tech prices should be going down so perhaps the RHR retails for only $1995 now....

Do the RHR and you can't go wrong....it is the new thing, the future.

Re: Purchasing 2011 OVerland, confused about RER vs RHR

RHR really standard on overland in Canada? If i ordered mine last week, i should expect to have one. My dealer could not say and was not even aware of these differences. One thing for sure, there was no option available to order any media center model whatsoever in their ordering system when i looked

Re: Purchasing 2011 OVerland, confused about RER vs RHR

So quick update, I haven't been back in to see it, but may take delivery on thursday (3/31). I know the sales game, and they're trying to get this out before the end of the month. My concern is that after repeatedly asking if there was any model number next to the AUX jack, he said there was nothing there at all.

I'm going on Thursdayto close the deal (maybe). If there really is no model # on the head unit, is there another way to tell? The window sticker is here: http://www.jeep.com/hostc/getWindowS...RR6GTXBC606028
Anyway to tell by looking at that?

It has the $305 730N upgrade opposed to the $465 I get when I build it on Jeep.com. I think it's the older model, but of course sales is assuring me that it's the newest.

The salesperson is flat out lying to you. Plain and simple. There are three letters on the bottom right.

That would be the RER for that VIN. The RHR wasn't even out yet when that one was built.

Check the build date. That sounds like an RER! If so it was built in Nov/Dec. time frame of last year. And there is a model number on the lower right hand corner. I have the RER, its a a good radio but why is there still an RER left on the lot??

Re: Purchasing 2011 OVerland, confused about RER vs RHR

What's funny is I just called and told the sales guy that, and he swore up and down that this had the newest radio w/Sirius. I told him yes it's the 730N, but there's a newer model that has Sirius Travel Link, Bluetooth streaming, etc.... He got his manager on the phone who said this has Sirius and Bluetooth. I just laughed and said I know you're trying to sell this Jeep before the end of the month, but trust me, it does not have the latest head unit. You may not have gotten them in stock, but there are people around the country who do have them.

So I told them I'd like to order one. Which he replied 'what, a radio?'. I said no, a jeep. They said they'd call me back.

Ahhh, nothing like going into a dealership at the end of the month.
