Question about 430N (Using Navi without radio on)

Hey guys, so I picked up our WK2 last night and still haven't gotten around all the manuals and user guides. One thing I couldn't do last night while driving it home was use the navigation without listening to the radio. I had to switch to either AUX or HDD in order to turn off the music so I can use the navi or just keep the navigation map on screen. Do I have to turn music on everytime I use the navi? What's the trick here?

No trick...just the way it is designed. I guess the assumption is that most want to listen to something while driving.

Re: Question about 430N (Using Navi without radio on)

I havent tried it....but try simply turning the radio volume all the way down. The navigation volume is separate. As long as you dont turn the volume down when the nav is actually speaking a direction (thats when u can adjust the nav volume) you should be able to turn off the music and still hear the directions.

I can confirm these instructions are correct.

Thanks guys, I can't believe there is no OFF button. Even our old 2003 GX470 had all separate buttons.

Re: Question about 430N (Using Navi without radio on)

It took me a while to figure this out too. Minor annoyance, but I think my wife and I can live with it. Also, if you turn the radio off you can still get directions on the EVIC. I just don't think you'll get the voice prompts.
