R40 Recall Fail
Received the recall notice with the USB and preformed it myself. Unfortunately im a part of the special bunch whose radios failed when accepting the update. My dealer told me a bunch of radios they have been updating themselves have failed and therefore yield a replacement.
Now Im stuck driving around in silence talking to myself like im Matthew McConaughey in a Lincoln commercial. Its a bummer and frankly im bothered but whatever.
What really stung me though is when I was on the phone with jeep support and they had questioned how many miles my car had...had i been out of the warranty period they said I would be responsible for the radios failure to accept the update. Im really turned off by that. Granted I have an extended warranty but it really bothers me that they would try to peg a fail on a system of theirs on the customer. My nav had been buggy to begin with since the start and after a few reboots by the dealer it still stuck. I think its kind of convenient the system failed with the update.
Anyone else experience a radio fail like mine?
