R40 recall without going to the dealer

I recently downloaded and installed the R40 recall firmware update from the uConnect site and was wondering how to get the recall cleared from my vehicle. Today I checked the owner connection site and it now shows that it has been performed (showed unrepaired a few days ago). Guess they pinged my vehicle.

Re: R40 recall without going to the dealer

I did the update myself 3 weeks ago, and it still shows incomplete on the owner connect site.

Re: R40 recall without going to the dealer

This is interesting. I did mine shortly after it was released and just before all of the stories of the hacked Cherokee surfaced on the television. I know it registered as incomplete. I hadn't logged into Owner Connect for couple of weeks, but just checked and it shows as completed. I have not talked with a dealer about this so I'm guessing they are validating. Creepy, but I suppose good in a way.

Re: R40 recall without going to the dealer

I did mine before it went public and as of last week it showed incomplete. I had them look in dealerconnect and it showed incomplete there as well.

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.

I guess I got pinged too after I recently did the update myself, since the recall (R40) shows complete on the Mopar Owners site for my Jeep. Btw I have the Jeep App on my Android phone Jeep Mobile Apps | Jeep Vehicle Information App | Jeep, and noticed that yesterday, an August 11, 2015 mileage posting in the app on my phone that I did not enter. I had not updated the mileage myself since Aug. 4th; also that the R40 was cleared from both the app and the Jeep owners site for my vehicle. Then today when I checked the app the mileage was again showing the old August 4th mileage from the entry I did myself. Anyway for now all up to date on recalls.

Re: R40 recall without going to the dealer

I just bought my Jeep on July 28th. I installed the R40 update myself the first week, but the recall status on the Mopar owner's website stayed on "incomplete". Earlier this week I went to my stealership to have warrantee work done, and asked them to indicate on their computer system that the upgrade was done. As of today (I just checked) it shows "completed".
BTW, the updated version of software is 15.17.5 on my system. Is that the version you have?

Re: R40 recall without going to the dealer

I downloaded the recall software and updated my '14 a few weeks ago; checked owner connect site afterwards and that recall was showing as outstanding. As of yesterday, though, it shows as completed with no outstanding recalls on my Jeep (and I haven't been to the dealership in the interim for any reason). Guess FCA is indeed monitoring our Uconnect systems to see which have been updated. I'm not as concerned about that as I am that now I apparently won't be receiving a free USB stick from them...

You have a MY15 so your version # is different. For MY14 the version is 15.26.1
