2014 WK2 Overland did not originally have external CD player (RH1). I have added it with the Mopar CD player and appropriate wiring harness. Player has power and lights-up, but radio (RA4) does not recognize that CD player is now attached. I have rebooted the radio, and reflashed the latest software to it. No luck. How do I get the radio to know the CD player is attached?
Thanks for the insight. Is there any way to be sure that the dealer is needed. When I talked to a dealer about adding the CD player, they were not very helpful. Is there information on the forum regarding placing the radio in "Dealer Mode" or "Engineering Mode", or is that only in the VIP area?
my dealer said it may not work, I'm trying to put a mopar cd player in mine to and I'm a little discouraged. I'm waiting to see if someone has it done. I'm sure a lot of people are waiting to see it get done successfully and then a ton of people will be asking how. let me know pleaseeee
Thanks for the suggestion, but I am not exactly certain what you mean by a "hard reset". I did disconnect the battery for over 5 minutes, and that did not work. I also did a "Reset To Factory Defaults" from the Engineering Menu and that did not work. But I am open to suggestions.
Finally an update. As bill_de had indicated, the dealer needed to update the radio. Specifically, the process starts with the dealer going into the Chrysler DealerCONNECT website and adding the sales code for the CD player (RH1) to the vehicle VIN. After the sales code was added, the radio/vehicle is reprogrammed. The dealer charged me 1 hour of programming which is $145 in northern CA. Everything works great now. Thanks for the guidance.
