Re: radio question

I think the issue rests with SiriusXM. Garbage in, garbage out...

Re: radio question

Radio volume will depend 100% on the source. It is not in your radio.
Satellite can be interrupted by sun flares, storms, rain, snow, tall buildings, mountains to the south, and a zillion other things - including a mixing frequency - perhaps from a nearby FM station or cell tower. Solution: Live with it. By the way, I own a radio station - which I did the engineering for.

Huskercory is on a distinguished road
Thanks Steve963. What I am now wondering is that if the satellite source is consistently lower (sounds like everyone with Siriusxm has the issue), why not compensate by bumping up the input level internally so that output levels are at least close at the same volume setting for various inputs? I'm guessing some of the higher end aftermarket units can do this.

Re: radio question

Huskercory I have the same issue, and it has nothing to do with the satellite signal as I always have to turn the volume up about 5 points compared to FM radio or the ipod connected via the usb, no matter where I am. It is the source itself. I agree that the system should be able to equalize the volume differences between sources better. My 5-series BMW did so quite well, so the technology exists to do so effectively.
