Re: radio question

First, congrats on the Jeep.

Second, calm down man. You've started 3 threads in 6 minutes. People have already answered your radio question in your first thread. If you still have other radio questions, you can go into that specific sub-forum and search, and if you still don't find the answer... then start a thread in that specific sub forum.

Re: radio question

What Turbo said makes sense. I don't care if you have been here for 5 minutes or 15yrs. Your asking a radio question so it should of been posted in the radio section. Everyone is busy in life, your questions aren't really more important than anyone else that asked a question that follow the rules.

To answer your question, alot of people have stated (not just on the 2014 model) that it's like this. If your Laredo wasn't, then you might of been lucky.

Re: radio question

The volume differences are caused by the source, not the radio. I agree that the unit should equalize all the source's volume levels, but this seems to be a practically universal problem. A case in point is commercials on television. My tv is supposed to equalize the levels, and the government even mandates this from broadcasters, but that's not happening.
(Maybe a moderator can move this thread to the proper topic area.)

Took my 2014 in to the dealer today for various minor things, 1 being the satellite cutting out and the fact that the satellite volume is so much lower than the other inputs. Service tech mentioned that he thought they could adjust that in the radio service menu. We'll see what happens.

About cutting out, the two cars we have with satellite radio always cut out in the same locations, so there is some sort of interference in those spots. Try to see if u notice that.

My signal is definitely weak compared to my 2008. I think there is a service bulletin out for the antenna that might help that.

The main thing bugging me is that every time after startup, sound goes away for a couple of seconds, comes back, then goes out again for about a second. This happens every time on satellite, usually anywhere from 3-5 minutes after startup. Does not happen on FM. I have updated to the latest software, but no difference. Not a huge deal, but annoying.

Rules do not apply to important people who are busy. Whatever is best for them is all that counts. Besides, he has enough problems, his shift key is broken.

Angry Re: radio question

Got my Jeep back from the dealer last night. Was in a hurry, so didn't have time to check out everything I had them try to fix. I say try, because the satellite volume is still much lower than all of the other inputs. It does appear that the issue of the sound dropping out for a few seconds after startup is better - software patch to the amp itself where it was somehow muting itself.

In terms of the satellite volume being lower, has anyone been able to resolve this? I have the 8.4an - not sure if the issue is limited to this model. If I set the volume to 20, i would estimate that the satellite volume is at least 30% less than the FM or other inputs. It is very noticeable and quite annoying. I have spent some time searching other threads, but haven't found anything yet.
