RB2 Radio Drains Battery on 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hello Guys,

Newbie on this forum and first time poster.

I have a huge problem with a 2012 Grand Cherokee, 4x4 Limited Hemi engine. It's equipped with the RB2 Radio, for a week now the radio seems to "turn on" during the night and drains the battery. It becomes extremely hot to the touch even after sitting overnight for 10 hours.

Initially it had Version 32.01.03 (black graphics), two days ago an authorized dealer downgraded the system to 10.00.11(blue graphics) however problem persists. Any ideas on how to solve this, local dealers are just plain ignorant and I would like to try different solutions before even thinking of purchasing a new head unit.

Thanks in advance for your comments

Hello Sox, I burned the image into a CD however it identifies the disk as data an then says in red "Stopped" on the bottom part of the screen.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Re: RB2 Radio Drains Battery on 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hello Sox,

No luck I have burned the update on multiple CD's and the 33 and 50 version are not recognized, it just says "data" on the screen and "Stopped" in red. Unit still seems to turn on internally(screen off) when vehicle is shut down. Took it to a Jeep dealer today but the look on his face makes me think he has no idea as to what is going on or how to solve it.

If you have any other ideas please let me know, I cannot even imagine having to buy a head unit fot this problem.

Thanks so much for your interest.
