Unhappy RBZ 430 - Should I have Bluetooth / Voice Command?

Hello Jeep Fans,

I need help confirming if my 2011 Grand Cherokee 70th Anniv Edition is supposed to have bluetooth. We bought it 2 weeks ago at a VW dealership as we were turning in a leased car. They told us it came with all the features including BLUETOOTH and VOICECOMMAND. We were in such a rush that we did not have time to test it. Both the steering wheel and radio (RBZ 430) have the phone and voicecommand buttons so I never doubted it. The GC came with so many features that I cant believe a simple BLUETOOTH is not included.
I get a "UCONNECT PHONE NOT AVAILABLE" message when I press the buttons. I have called various JEEP dealers and they tell me it does and it does not have the module. They look up my VIN and give me different answers.
Is there a way I can check and confirm if I have BLUETOOTH or the system is just not working and needs an update??? Needless to say I am trying to get the selling dealership to make this right and pay for the install of any modules if needed, but its an uphill battle. Ive been quoted almost $900 for the module and install at a JEEP dealer!

Any help or pointers is greatly appreciated.

Does the menu show the pairing function? Can you pair it?

That message means that UConnect is unable to pair up with your phone.

What phone do you have? You need a smartphone(Android, iPhone, BlackBerry) with Bluetooth turned on. Instructions on how to pair up your phone with UConnect is available in the owner's manual.

I have an android HTC One. No setup option appears when I press the phone button. I've read that the uconnect needs to be reset by pulling a fuse. Wondering if its worth a shot . Maybe this unit is locked up for some reason.

Re: RBZ 430 - Should I have Bluetooth / Voice Command?

You do have BLUETOOTH and VOICE COMMAND. All 70th's do have that. By "no setup appears" do you mean uconnect doesn't say anything when you press the phone button? RBZ doesn't display uconnect options on the radio. If you do hear something after pressing the phone button, say "Setup" when the voice command is on and should let you add a new phone.

Thanks for your response.
I don't hear any prompts or anything for that matter when pressing the buttons. The so called tech at my nearby jeep dealer told me I did not have a Mic. I thought its hidden in the rearview mirror. I will try o give the command just seems odd I can't access any kind of set up menu with the radio or steering wheel buttons.

Bluetooth yes, but it doesn't have to be a smart phone. Basic "feature" phones have had bluetooth for years.

That seems to be Chrysler's attempt to certify the phone function as "hands free." The only way to control the phone is with the two hard buttons and by voice. Nothing ever appears on the screen. I don't like this approach but we're stuck with it.
