Greetings and welcome,
To begin with, do you have the standard or the Alpine system, which head unit is in your JGC and finally, what level of sound fidelity do you prefer?
As a rule of thumb, it is better to match speakers with the same in order for the speaker characteristics to be equal. This comes in play with the midrange and tweeter frequencies. This is specially true when you are in close quarters.
Therefore, in your case, since, it is the same speaker company and they use the same silk tweeter it does not matter that much. The CTX, the tweeter location is will be by your knees and with the XS, you can place the tweeter to your liking. The next difference between them is the XS uses the better passive crossover, thus another reason it cost more.
If you do have the Alpine system, as you have read in this forum, most solutions requires an upgrade that could potential see yourself spending $$$, yes bucks to correct the problem. It boils down to your level of sound appreciation. For example, for me, as an audiophile, I need the right components for that sound I like.
After you change the rear door, and the sound is still not to your liking. The next solution is to change out the stock head unit to an aftermarket. The stock head units are nothing to write home about. The 430 series is nothing but bad and the 730 is better, but below the quality of the aftermarket head units.
Best for now.
