I have one quote of $145, but the dealer offered to do it for free since they felt bad about my having to go back a few times for the steering wheel being crooked.

Re: Rear View Camera in Laredo?

Ok i read thru these pages. I am still confused. I am trying to work a deal on a laredo e packg and i know it doesnt have a backup cam. So, is there hope to retro something? I think the radio it would come with is the 5" touch screen????

If you read through these pages it is theoretically possible. The parts are the same for both radios. As far as I know no one has tried it however. I want to do it but it is a $300 gamble at this point, not counting the flash.

Im not saying anything, this thread is saying it is possible. The parts list is on page one I believe. You just have to get the correct color for the rear applique.

Ok i guess thats the million dollar ? Then is has anyone done this successfully with directions and pic. I just didnt want to take the gamble if it didnt work on a 5" screen in the laredo e.

That is correct. It should work because people have gotten it to work on rams which a lot more difficult because you have to make the wiring harness. For us the harness is all there is it just a matter of getting it flashed at the dealer to enable the camera.

Aha i see what you mean now. So i guess i will wait on this post to see if someone manages to do this successfully ok on a laredo. So once you get all the pieces you have to go to the dealer and ask them to flash the unit to enable the camera? Im assuming youll have to pay them labor cost?

Yes. Usually they will charge you a hours labor to do it. I have wanted to do it as well but cant quite justify spending the money on something that might not work.

I hear ya and i agree. Guess wait and see if someone else tries this successfully on this thread/post. Would love to see this work correctly with those parts.
