Replace 430N with 730N?

Can I replace my 430N with a 730N in a 2013 Grand Cherokee Limited? Does the 730N get the new Siri Eyes Free update?

Thanks!

Re: Replace 430N with 730N?

Greetings,

Yes, you can upgrade to the 730. With Siri, the 730 should have the latest firmware. If you search the internet, you should be able to find good prices on them. Some of the retailers upgrade the units before they sell them. I would start with eBay first.

Or other choice is to go the aftermarket market headunit route. Most people that are in the same situation go that route. The aftermarket units are far better than the OE.

Best for now.

Re: Replace 430N with 730N?

I haven't noticed any Sri benefits with the 730N and I run the most recent (and likely last) code revision.

Personally, I'd opt for a third party head replacement which can actually be done in the MY11-13 vehicles, unlike later model years. You can get a lot more functionality for reasonable cost and with available harness and electronic adapters, retain full functionality for things like steering wheel controls. I'm honestly considering replacing my 730N with an aftermarket head unit since it appears I'll be keeping my MY12 on the road for longer than I originally intended..."the younger's" college costs loom...

Re: Replace 430N with 730N?

I would be open to an aftermarket solution for sure. I really like the navigation on the black snd white screen in front of the steering wheel. Is there a system that will input the next directions on there, as the current OEM setup does?

For "that" feature, I doubt it, but I haven't looked for it.

Crutchfield is a good site to browse potential third party options.

That's funny...
I specifically disabled the navigation directions in the display between the guages, annoyed me. Forgot it was even there after 3 years.

I like it because it's an easy clean glance at the next move you'll be making. The nav screen is a little cluttered, so you have to look at it for another half second. I get how it might be annoying for some. I assume you have your MPH there, right?

Unfortunately for me, Crutchfield support told me that only factory radios will play well with that screen. Damn.

Re: Replace 430N with 730N?

Greetings,

You might want to check out Head Up Display for GPS. For example: Garmin has one

https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/prod155059.html

Something to consider.

Best for now.
