I have a DXi350 that I will install if I can get a harness adapter. Anyone got one they would like to send to Australia? (I cannot source or order one from here). Can Paypal.

I do not have an adapter so I can not help you there, but according to Crutchfield, they ship internationally. Cost may be prohibitive though.

Yes, but they have so many T&C's I couldn't meet them all. I made a few phone calls and several emails. It came down to I had to send it to a US address that had a phone number listed in White Pages. I was able to provide an address but it wasn't listed in WP, so they wouldn't sell me a $10 item which they sometimes giveaway. I also tried via personal shopper/ forwarding company but wouldn't send to them either. My final email to them was basically saying they are nuts. Sounds like they are good to deal with domestically but they are the biggest pain in the world to deal with internationally.

Sorry, off topic. End of rant.

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

I checked out a bunch of $400-1100 focal performance, JBL, and hertz at my local B&M store and honestly I didn't think they sounded much better than stock when both are compared to a home theater setup.

I initially was thinking I would replace the speakers in the front of my 12 overland but after listening and discovering how far expensive car audio lags behind home theater audio I think it might not be worth it for me. Setting the bar at a 10 for my current Definitive Technology BP supertowers, I would rate stock a 6, the 1000 dollar focal speakers I heard at a 7. Probably will still drop in a dxi350 as I get the impression it would improve the semi-muffled sound call quality on Bluetooth. I guess with knowing nothing about car audio my home theater setup has spoiled me and set unrealistic expectations on what a car audio upgrade could achieve, either that or their demo wasn't setup right.

Car audio speakers on a board in a shop cannot be compared to how they sound in the car. They will sound way better in the car. My HATs on the board sounded like my stock speakers (nothing special). When they were installed in the car and run in, there was a night and day difference.

How are they supposed to be in comparison to the focals as far as sound and pricing?

Greetings,

Here is the main site:

Home - The Home of the World's Finest Loudspeakers, and World Championship Car Audio Speaker Systems.

This an online seller:

12v Electronics : Hybrid Audio Technologies Online Retailer - Car audio - Speakers - Amplifiers

I went with the HAT's for their accuracy and how they handle off-axis problems within the vehicle. The tweeters are mainly a soft dome type which does not give you that metallic sound. They go from inexpensive to $$$$. Their hi end models are fantastic, that is what is in my JGC.

Best for now.
