Did you install the bass blocker?

I did not. Wanted to test the sound before the blocker and was satisfied with the added fullness to the fronts. Still not completely satisfied but its a start.

What's involved with changing out the front dash speaker to this polk that you're all talking about? Theres a thread for changing out the door speakers with supposedly good results.

Actual work involved :

Pop off panel in dash: 1 minute
Unscrew 2 bolts holding on speaker: 2 minutes
Cut old wires, connect to new speaker: 10 minutes
Bolt in new speaker: 2 minutes
Pop on panel: 30 seconds

When you're cutting these old wires for the 2014 is it an easy connection to the new center dash speaker that will be installed?

Same as connecting any speaker.

Will this be your first speaker change?

You just have to cut the old wires, go to radio shack and get some connectors, crimp them onto the old wires and connect to the new speaker.

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

You don't need to cut the wires. I've always used splices. That way, it's easy to turn back to stock.

These:

50 Pack Quick Wire Splices

50 for $4.99 will be the cheapest you'll find locally. The hardware store will sell you 5 for about $2-$3.

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

I tend to stick with brands I have used before and like. Would there be any issues with adding this MTX speaker compared to the Polk?
