Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

Has anyone put a center in other than the Polk and Infinity models, perhaps a HAT, AUDISON/HERTZ or other? I've had a previous bad experience with Polk and would rather use another brand.

Great upgrade I must say, now I'm trying to convince the wife the rest of the speakers need help too! She says I spend too much money on my cars.

Anyway if anyone else would like the other speaker with plug and play harness just shoot me an offer because it's just taking up space at the moment.
How did the Infinity fit in terms of depth? Those that did the polk said it was tight and i want to swap mine but with someting other than polk. Trying to get a reference for the actual amount of space available.

Thanks!

760hacker, I installed the Polk & it was a perfect fit. Took me all of 20 minutes start to finish. The sound is sooooo much better than stock & I was quite impressed with the Polk sound. What bad experience do you speak of?

The fit was perfect. A little bit tight but everything lined up and the trim panel went back on with ease and the speaker doesn't seem to be interfering with anything. The overall quality is much better than stock particularly with spoken voice. I can't speak for the Polk speaker as I couldn't find the specific model in stock anywhere, but I am quite pleased with the Infinity. I've since also done the Focals as well and am quite happy with the overall quality.

Years ago I had some Polk coaxial speakers that failed and Polk wouldn't honor the warranty.

I went with the ISS 690s for the front and the ISC 165s for the rear. Same ones 04JGCLMTD used in his post on this board.

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

The Polk center fits perfectly and takes 15 minutes to install. The only challenge is taking the two mounting screws off given the space to fit your hands. I have replaced all speakers except the rear pillars. I heard the Polk will fit rear pillars as well but haven't verified this.

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

There was an earlier post of a member who went all Polk Audio and ended up going back to factory. I have Polk Center, Focal front and rear speakers, and JL Audio Stealthbox with 500w JL Audio mono amp. My setup is awesome. It took two weeks for the Focals to break in. Crutchfield sends excellent installation instructions outlining each step for all speaker locations. I saved the instructions as a PDF if anyone needs it.
