Does yours include the wiring harness that plugs into the jeep harness for a flawless installation? I'll be changing the door speakers also to get rid of those muffled sounds too. It wont be the hk system but it will be better then the stock sound.

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

Very easy install. Longest part of the install was finding the right size socket (7mm if I remember correct). The MTX speaker is a little wider than the OEM and the mounting bracket for it does not sit flush (last pic). It still easily fits under the trim and grill. Did not get a wire harness from Crutchfield, but I had enough things left over from other installs to crimp and heat shrink the wires. Pictures are below of the install.

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

The Boston SEW35's sound much better than the factor center speaker. Not near as muddy. I have an extra one up for sale. Brand new. $40 shipped. Thanks,

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

Just to note, my 2013 had the gray/orange wire as Positive and a Gray/green wire as negative. Verified by using a battery to test speaker phase.

Re: Replaced my 2014 Overland Dash Speaker

I also changed my front middle speaker to Polk Audio DB351 past weekend.
Sound is noticeably better! Very happy with the mod.
Voice is sooo much more crisp.
Some songs, I almost feel like middle speaker is too loud.
Thank you WVSpelunker for the picture posts! It was very helpful.

When I was installing, I noticed + and - wires worked either way...
What would be an issue if I installed them reverse?

Did anyone install bass blockers?
Just wondering whether installing bass blockers would even make it better.
Thanks.

What's the purpose of installing base blockers on a dash mounted speaker if the sound is good already and it's primarily going to be used for calls etc??

Installing in reverse will reverse the direction the cone moves.

What's the purpose of these bass blockers and what's the positives or negatives of using them?

Out of phase...which can be good or bad.
